Please excuse the ignorance if this has already been addressed.

I recently purchased an '04 360 Spider. The second time I cycled the top I had a problem with the side flaps. When stowing the top, it took some two or three attempts until the side flaps finally went all the way to the top, completing the cycle. The next time I attempted this, I nearly gave up, but after numerous times of flipping the button and only barely cycling the last portion of the stowing mechanism, the side flaps finally went up. I haven't screwed with them since. I live in the country and prefer to keep the top up to keep mice out of the car.

Is this just a break in problem with the mechanism?

Do I need to "mini cycle" it back-and-forth only moving the side flap portion of the mechanism to break it in, do I completely cycle the mechanism from start to finish to break it in?

Once again, sorry if this has already been addressed.

I've seen this problem on my friends 03 360 spider. I'm not sure if it still happens but it did occur 2 or 3 times in the first few months of ownership. He did the same thing as you did... keep trying.

It could be a simple adjustment is required. I've seen in some cases the cars need adjustments after shipping. In my friends case his car was 1" too low and the front wheels were scrubbing the wheel wells.
