Correct, it is 0844. Born as a 330 P3, now a 412 P. Owned by Harry Leventis and raced by Peter Hardman. Saw it racing at Spa yesterday, it looked and sounded great as ever!

I was wondering..The yellow P4/3? they used in Victory by Design, was that a real car or was it a replica? That car is the only reason I watch that show over and over again. Just can't get enough of it. (oh yea and for the sound of the 333sp!!:))

This one, Tom ? It's actually called a 412P (built specifically as a 'customer' version of the P4), rather than a P3/4, which is a P3 partially upgraded to P4 spec. Chassis is #0850, and it's owned by Lawrence Stroll (as is P4 #0856).

That car was owned by Dean Martin Jnr. amongst others, and used on the road, and was damaged in a crash and repaired; but the windscreen made for the repair wasn't to the original pattern and lacks the slight rearward curve at the top, which is very apparent on this photo.

0850 was owned for many years by P. Paul Pappalardo from Florida, who still, I believe, owns the 250TR which won Le Mans in 1960, and a 250GTO amongst other cars. He brought 0850 to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1995, when it was painted red with gold wheels, and was parked in the paddock next to Piper's 0900. He brought it over again in 1997, now painted yellow with silver wheels, when 0844 (in Can-Am body) and 0854 were also at Goodwood (as well as James Glickenhaus and his Ford MkIV).

He made quite a few trips to the UK after that to race the 250TR and 250GTO at Silverstone and Goodwood, and 0850 was raced in 1998 IIRC in the Ferrari-Maserati Challenge race at Silverstone by noted historic racer Gary Pearson, chasing three 512S/Ms and a 312PB. It was then sold through Adrian Hamilton's (son of 1953 Le Mans winner Duncan) business to Stroll in about 2000.

True, isn't it awesome. That 333SP sounds soo wild in that show. And yes, that yellow P4 is owned by fellow Canadian Lawrence Stroll who owns Ferrari Quebec.

Yes, Paul - you're right there. I can't say that I'd noticed it before, but in that overhead shot in post #9, it is very apparent. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that the shape of that windscreen looks uncannily like the ones used in Noble, Foreman and other P4 replicas !
Here are some photos below, scanned from Motor Trend, November 1970. In the first one, you can clearly see the correct additional curve to the upper part of the windscreen. The other two show the levels of modification made to the bodywork, to enable the car to be run on the public highway. Most obvious is the raised suspension height, and the myriad extra cold air scoops.
The car also appeared painted red, carrying #24's at Monterey in 1994. It was part of their Daytona '67 1-2-3 finish display. Unfortunately, none of the cars which took part were actually at the finish in 1967 - though seeing #0850 painted red with the #24's may have fooled a few people. In fact the real #24 (second place car) was actually #0856 - then a Berlinetta, now a Spyder, and also owned by Lawrence Stroll ....

Dare I say that the P4 is, for me, the most beautiful Ferrari ever. The most beautiful and functionnal race car ever to be made. It condensates everything Ferrari is all about more than any other Ferrari car IMHO.

As I said earlier, he also owns P4 Spyder #0856. Apparently he also bankrolled Tommy Hilfiger and recently bought the high-class London jewellers, Aspreys .... and if you believe 'the rumour mill' - he also owns half of Canada !

Guilty - but not as charged. Yes, it was a dumb thing to do. As I tried to explain to Rob, in an email, I wrote:

"I think I ought to point out that ID was in fact not created 'to upload more photos' (like I said - it was a total surprise to me, as I was in the middle of a post, and hadn't then, at that stage, read the newsletter). No, in fact P4_Enthusiast was created a couple of days ago - in anticipation of P4Replica getting banned ANYWAY (forever) because of the #0846 Poll thread fiasco !"

Just wanted to clear that up, O.K.?
