    Hello "F"-Chatters,

    On a 1979 308GTB USA version:

What is that little 'slit" in the back side of the transmission case, it's about 4'"5" long and is right behind the oild cooler line??

Unfortunately, that was one of the holes I didn't notice to plug up during my engine wash, as I'm sure water got in there (I was extremely carefull during the wash to take precautions) what did I damage? Can I get the water out some how??? Please advise me on how to remedy!!!

    Thanks, Chris.

I'm not quite sure what 'slit' you're talking about. Are you sure it's a slit?

At any rate, drive the car, you haven't damaged anything.

You probably did not get a lot of water in that inspection hole. Any water in would have floated out down below. I wound not sweat it.
