In planning for a new garage with 2 lifts, the question of getting lifts with casters comes up.
Why would you want the lift on casters??
    Why not??

Searching the archives (esp. the pics), it seems the vast majority have the lifts that are bolted into the floor.
    Your thoughts are appreciated.

casters are useful if you need to move the lift around or move the car on the lift around.

some folks roll their car, on the lift, out into the driveway for a washing.

sometimes you just might want to move the lift from garage bay X to garage bay Y. with or without a car on it, moving the beastie is non-trivial 'cuz they're so heavy.

note that different lift manufacturers do their casters differently. some are clearly more stable than others.

The casters for mine are attached only when the lift is to be moved. Otherwise the casters are on the shelf.
