I spoke with Paul's family and they are pulling together closely to honor his passing. I nearly ran out of tears talking to them. He died of a heart attack. He loved everyone and everything so much, that his ole heart, finally broke.

Paul had a gift of touching the soul of everyone that he met. His bright light shined down on all of us. Many thanks to everyone who has posted today. In reaching out to all of you, I have come to understand why you all meant so much to him.

Please dedicate the run from Vegas to his memory. He wanted to go so badly.

In parting, I want to dedicate this song to him and to everyone who is crying out in his memory....

    Dying
I'm Dying, Dying to wake up without you, without you in my head again
I'm Dying, Dying to forget about you, that you ever lived
There's a shade come over this heart that's coping with laying down to rest
I'm Dying to live without you again

I'm Dying, Dying to find a distraction, get you away from me
I'm Dying, Dying to reach a conclusion, so that the world can see
It's the same old story of love and glory that broke before it bent
I'm Dying to live without you again

The first time you left I said goodbye
Now there's not a prayer that can survive

Dying, Dying to die just to come back so we can meet again
Dying, Dying to say what I always should have said
It's a strange emotion this but there's still hope in this
As long as there's a breath...
I'm Dying and I can't live without you again

It's a strange emotion this but there's still hope in this
As long as there's a breath...

I'm Dying and I can't live without you
I'm Dying and I can't live without you again

This is my first post and it is with great sadness as Paul was the reason I started to follow the threads on f-chat over the past couple of months. Paul and I worked together and based on his enthusiasim for ferrari and the comraderie that he felt with you all he encouraged my to pursue my dreams of getting my first f-car just as he had done.

He was a terrific guy and will be truely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

It's a few hours later and this is still bugging me.. Damm we were both the same age, few kids, stressful jobs and each found our escape chasing the same passion. And another 328 guy... Kinda makes you re-think things... this is just sad...

    Ideas/input anyone:

Jordan, respectfully since your the king of crystal cove and if you'd like the honors, what do you think about getting up a little collection together for a thoughtful "F-chat" gift from all of us? Of course ANY suggestions or Volunteer would be welcome.

Maybe a "Prancing Red Horse" Flower arrangement from F-chat ? just a thought...

    Count me in regardless..
    Patrick

appended: Thanks Jerry, my thought also, similar in size too... scary

WOW! This hurts. What a great guy! I remember meeting him on our 1st. Sunday Brunch to the Yard House. I thought him and his wife were such great people. He was so excited about his new 328. He couldn't stop smiling. That smile will stay in my thought. God bless his family!!!! I pray for you!

    Excerpt From Thanatopsis - W C Bryant

So live, that when thy summons comes to join
    The innumerable caravan which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

    God bless all.

My parents are the same age as Paul was and I just had a long talk with them about this tonight...They both have clinical heart problems and I would be ruined if anything unfortunate happened to them...So please, everyone out there just take care of yourselves.
