You're right, that was close, but apart from that turn, I thought the guy was a pretty decent driver. Seemed to have good car control.

Yea that could have been a bad wreck, the guys kinda drivin wrecklessly, but DAMN I cant belvie how that little Elise is passin everyone.....the F40, the Porsche, the Caterham everything. Guys a good driver, maybe hes got a little ego goin and thats why he does those wreckless stunts.

Wow..he came REALLY close to ruining the day..haha. That would have been bad...to say the least. However, other than that little incident, he did appear to be a good driver

The way he was driving at a recreational track event sucked.

Passing should only be done on a straightaway after the leading driver signals the passing car.

Think he could pay for the F40 after he crashed into it?? Insurance sure wouldn't pay off.

I would not be too happy with his driving if he was participating in the same recreational track event as I was. He is a bit too reckless.

Hot damn! Is that Elise modified? That would be a perfect track car to start with.

This is an old video and I believe there was talk about this from the F40 guy. If I remember correctly, he did back off because he was getting worried about the Elise. His main advantage was his ability to brake late and maintain speed into the corners. Honestly I feel that the F40 could have away better than that, especially on the straights. Once again, on track is like 80% driver factor. Another thing is that I know a lot of guys with expensive cars like the F40 don't push their cars that hard on recreational days like that because crashing on a leisure day would really suck and not be worth the chances. I remember an F50 GT and an F40 at the track a while back and they were getting passed by all kinds of cars and people's jaws dropped. I told them that there's nothing to be surprised about, but it's not worth their risking their cars during an open track day.

That being said, maybe the F40 was trying for all I know, but I feel he could have done much better.

The guy in the lotus would be black flagged in most recreation events I have been to.

Looked to me that the f40 braked to give the caterham plenty of space in the turn and the elise took advantage. the guy seemed to be in control at all times, can't say the same for the passenger. Was this in France, because they were speaking french.

Believe me, neither the driver of the F40 nor the Porsche where driving anywhere near the limit of their cars.
Either they didn't want to risk their cars as someone mentioned or they just didn't know how to drive their cars.

    Me too.

    Exactly my reaction!
Had that been on an open trackday in Sweden they would have been, nicely but firmly, lifted off the track.

??? The incident in question occurs when the Caterham is not even in the frame, it's just the Blue Porsche and the red F40. The driver did seem to be in good control, but it was still foolhardy in a non-competitive event.

Not just the F40. Looked like a couple of the Porsches did the same. I certainly wouldn't drive like that on a trackday. Out-braking manouevres belong in a race, or on a wider track where you are sure the guy you are diving up the inside of KNOWS you are there.

Sorry, but those two didn't impress me the slightest bit.

Not that I condone driving that aggressive on a recreational track, but late braking and carrying much more speed through the corners than any other car is what the Elise is all about. Any driver can go fast in the straight line.

    I love my Elise
