How do you pronounce Ferrari models in the US?

I'm not sure if I ever have heard how the Ferrari models are pronounced
in the US.
Is it: three-five-five
Or : three-fiftyfive
OR : threehundredandfiftyfive (hope you dont use this one )
I have this "50 years of Ferrari" on DVD - this program is from the UK, and the guy who runs the show use: three-five-five.

I personly say: three-fiftyfive - three-five-five sound lame in Norwegian
(tre-fem-fem - tre-femogfemti sounds so much better)

I think all the 3-digit F models are typically expressed that way in the US -- "single digit number + two digit number" (four-fifty six, three-thirty, five-twelve, etc.) except for three-oh-eight and two-oh-eight (you'd be showing some inexperience if you said three-zero-eight). How do you say "308" in Norwegian?

 

I guess because I'm 32! lol

 

Just to confuse in the UK the 355 is largely pronounced 3-5-5, but the 360 3-60. Go figure.

Mine's a 3-2-8 for sure.

I say three-oh-eight on this one(tre-null-åtte), fourhundred on the 400, but
when we come to those other models I use:
three-twentyeight
three-forthyeight
three-sixty ...and so on.....F-forthy and F-fifty as well, I belive you use the same words on the F40/F50 - and not F-four-oh, now THATS lame

Almost forgot one here - the 456, I sue four-fiftysix (fire-seksogfemti)

And of course, 5 twelve.

I am not sure why for any, but I was reading about Ferraris before talking to other tifosi about them, and my way just stuck with me...that said the frist time I said 355, I got a werid look.

 

I forgot about the 400 -- we say the same in the US -- "four hundred" (although a 412 is "four-twelve").

Here are some examples from California:

308: Thirty-eight
328: Thirty-two eight
355: Thirty-five five
512 TR: Fifty-One two TUR
360: Three six zero MOH DEE NAH
400: Forty-zero.

I've heard some Brits pronounce it "Straw Dolly"

I was going with Straw Dayle up until that point. Using Straw Dolly make me sound more worldly!!!!

"Murcielago" is usually mis-pronounced because people tend to ignore the marked accent.

The correct pronunciation is: Moor-see-EH-la-go.

 

Actually, "Straw Dolly" is not far off. I would list it as: Strah-DAH-leh.

 

I say 3-5-5, 3-60, 3-28, 3-0-8, 3-48. Now pronouncing Modena... that is harder.
