Driving home from work today, and took a detour on Henry Hudson,
after an hour of driving, oil temp starts going berserk.. bouncing to
    red zone/red light.
At stops, it drops to center, then on launch it stops to bounce again.

Could this be electronic related from the new battery CC installed?
or is it what Hubert had with the faulty oil temp. sensor, and that it
    needs to be replaced.

Humm..... it was fine before the battery problem/CC... joined you guys
on couple of spirited drives with no problem... not saying anything...
    just thinking out loud...

    Calling CC tomorrow morning.
    Frustrating.
ahh... the joys of Ferrari ownership.

done, and cost of it from CC?

Seems exactly like Hubert's issue. I'm sure it's the same thing.

It sounds like a bad sender. Won't be that much of a big deal -- just a nuisance.

CC found that my car had a faulty sender. Here is what they charged me:

1.5 hours labor to run test and find faulty sending unit. r&r sanding unit.

    new sending unit $120.48

just curios, if those problems are caught within the 1st 3 yrs(or whatever warranty period is), will it get fixed under warranty for free? or there is no warranty repair whatsoever with Fcars?

I dont think Classic Coach does warranty work, you have to go to FLI or WWOC for that

Yeah I understand only authorized dealer can do warranty works.
It seems that it might be worthy to get a late '01 or so and still have some warranty coverage left, and try to sort out all known/unknown bugs/problems before warranty expires, unless a '01 demands a much higher price than '99/'00.

Wheww... Just got back from CC.
Had to work this morning, but managed to do a drive by P.R....
didnt see much, didnt think event was so organized that the cars were actually parked inside by the ship.. thought that they would all be double parked on the W.S. Hwy.
Anyway, ran the car to and from CC and no problems. They couldnt run a test on the car, but noticed that oil was low, and that the filter was very dirty. Frank wasnt there, was hoping for some WD-40 action, but Mayur was there, being very nice as usual.
I am taking the car in on tuesday, leaving there for 2 days, for tests, most likely needs an oil change, and a new oil temp. sensor. So not too bad.
As for the run tomorrow, I was given the green light by Mayur and Carlos at CC, but only if I take it easy with the revs/and the gas. So basically I have to run at half-steam.
Emil, dont think I can do a race driving instructional session from you, and if you are fine with a half-steam car, feel free to take shot-gun.
Otherwise I will be there, maybe not speeding up front with Vik/Lupe, but
    at least I'll be there!

    Sorry for the long post.
Emil, also, got your voicemail. Left Lupes corners at Viks.
Also, let me know when you need the G... no prob in borrowing it for a day.
    See you guys tomorrow!

    Jon
