This is the funniest thing I've heard all week. Very true, there are times when mods ask me advice about a thread that's not clear. Many times we don't touch it.
Do I have to clear my threads through you before I post them?I can find better places for most of the threads, what is your problem? If I choose to seek out the help of the people that frequent this section, why should you tell me where I would be better off?Would you like me to provide you with a list of the mis-placed threads here?I can be a big help, because your missing a bunch of them. But you didnt miss mine!Have a wonderful day,and keep up the great work. And PLEASE remove my thread titled"Looking for an F-40".
Why would only the owners of F40's be able to help him find a car? If a thread is general & is not discussing a particular car, it makes sense in the general forum. He is calling out to all enthusiasts (Many) to help find a car, not just supercar owners (very few). Helping each other is what the site is all about.
This is kinda like the Ferrari of Atlanta discussion about "I'm in negotiations with Ferrari of Atlanta about some service they have attempted to provide but I can't tell you anything about it" that never came to fruition, yet created a huge uproar. The smallest molehill can get turned into ... the Marianas Trench because it's so LOOOOOOOOOW. Am I the only one that thinks this thread is blown way out of proportion? I have to admit that I've been intrigued and followed it (because I knew what thread he was asking about being moved. Why? Because I saw the "Moved: Looking for an F40" in the topics and thought "Yeah, the open forum isn't used for classifieds"!) Dear 6.0se, It's not the end of the world that your thread got moved. Nobody else uses the general forum for a classified section, that's what Ferrariads.com is for as I understand it. To allay your concerns about it not getting adequate attention, I can tell you that I DID see your thread and... skipped it, just like I would have if it had been see in all of its glory. I do appreciate Rob's openness on keeping threads open that are critical, but... I vote for a lock because this has become rediculous!
There are some interesting under-lying topics here. -A.J. helps a lot of people and when he needs help he gets pushed off the front page. -Lambo guys like Allan and Mako have been run out of town (too brash) but many Lambo fans wonder how welcome they really are? -Freedom from a mommy or daddy figure. "I put it there because I want it there". Kind of creepy when someone moves it because they know better. Its not fun when its your thread that gets moved.
Happy to see that the guy above you said you help a lot of people around here. I've noticed your name before without forming much of an opinion until this thread came along; if Mark there hadn't stuck up for you, I'd think you were a jerk. All I see is you telling people that as usual they're way off base and sarcastically asking people if you need to clear your threads through them first, now you, ever so graciously, offer me a clue. Thanks, but I don't think I want anything from you. But I do sincerely wish you good luck in your car search. I'm sure that if I was looking for such a rare beast I'd be pulling out all the stops, too.
Thats right.Thats all you see,and based your comments on that, without the background knowledge of any of it.I make a point to rebut any and all posts that have to do with me,in any way.Thats the beauty of all of this,we can all co-exist.But your post that I was rebutting was that this thread should be removed.I have an opinion to express, and if you dont agree, thats fine.Dont read it anymore. ps I have asked for this thread, along with my F-40 thread,to be removed.I have made my point, and dont see a need for it anymore.
Seriously, dude, the link is still there on page one of the main forum, people can still see it ! So why are you bellyaching ?
You guys own the greatest cars on the planet and you're sitting here fuming over some binary code translated into words on a screen. Go for a drive or something.
What a load of cr@p!. So you are complaining that your 'owe so important thread' is now posted 2 times and thus has twice the number of people seeing it. And note it is STILL in the original place, just where you posted it. What a loser ... some people are just moaners!, and the rest of us have to put up with this cr@p. Actually we don't if you don't like it bugger off, like I have been told many times. I might not own a Lamborghini, Ferrari or have anywhere near the money you have got ... but atleast I can think and reason Pete
Pete,I would expect this from you.Your a joke mate. And your last statement, well, the jury's out on that one.Ive read your posts. You dont contribute a thing, just try to be contradictory. But if thats your deal, more power to you.Knock yourself out.
I love you to 6.0 se I still struggling to see what you are complaining about?. Your post was NOT technically moved as it is still there. Instead another copy of it was made in the Supercar forum ... thus now you have 2 posts. What the hell is so wrong about that? Pete
Pete,my old friend of a couple of good battles, when it gets moved,it no longer can be advanced up.It had 1 post since it was moved, not including what I posted. It had beneficial info to me and excellent activity when it was active here.Im not losing sleep over it,just stating my opinion.Later.
Not to beat up on any individual, but if one finds their thread has been moved, regard it as: "a thread was moved" not "my thread was moved" then ask yourself why, rather than point finger at Moderators who did the right thing - which should result in joy, not bitterness. From Much Ado About Nothing - Act 1, Scene 1 Messenger I have already delivered him letters, and there appears much joy in him; even so much that joy could not show itself modest enough without a badge of bitterness. LEONATO Did he break out into tears? Messenger In great measure. LEONATO A kind overflow of kindness: there are no faces truer than those that are so washed. How much better is it to weep at joy than to joy at weeping!
Cool.I needed an education today.Thank you Wax.Whats really funny though,is that I asked for this thread to be removed, and its still here.
You're an aussie mate....get a grip. If it doesn't involve rugby or going to the beach it's not worth thinking about or reasoning over.
Posting a request within a post is ineffective, as it is unlikely to be seen by Mods. If you look in the upper right corner of any post, you'll note an icon. [blue folder wth a white exclamation mark] Click that sucker, fill out brief summary & field, send request directly to Mods. Badda-boom.
Wax,my other one was moved quickly, and it should have stayed. This one doesnt belong, why is it still here? The other one had some benefit(to me),and this one is now worthless.
Kiwi actually, but you're right ... what am I worrying about this thread for?. Now where is that rugby ball ... ? Pete
Rob, I would like to put my $.02 in: Does seem like there are too many categories. Since I have a 348, I am interested in not only 348's but 355's since they share so much. But often times, I find interesting topics on one of these two cars in the main "Technical" section. So to make sure, I scan the 348 section, the "modern" section, and then the techical section, whereas used to I just looked at the Technical section. I can actually say I use the site less than before the changes because I have a mindset (I suppose) of "screw it...who knows what section I might find this or that in..." Great site though!!! Keep up the good work!
