Here are some pics of the forthcoming '05 Viper Hardtop. The new factory tuned engine produces 625H.P.Through the extensive use of carbon fibre, the weight has been reduced 250lbs.It is not officially announced, but will be in September. This will be a limited production vehicle.

    And pricing?

Don't they have a racing version that is a coupe? I don't know why they don't make a road version of that.

This car will be priced in the 105k range. It is a bridge between the SRT and the forthcoming coupe.(fall 05 most likely). This car will outperform any production car on the road,as you can imagine with a weight of 3100 lbs,and 625H.P.Dodge is answering the bell, and responding. Its the best they can do quickly.

I am actually going to look at a Competition Coupe on Wednesday. They are real beasts, all carbon fibre, but not street legal. Its not as simple as just making that car street legal. It is a true track car.

That CC car is awesome. I saw the specs on that car. Whoa. Did you see how that car handles ? It will tear apart street cars on the track.

AJ: is the CC a new vehicle ? Dodge sells them direct. I think the price is around 125K ? Any negotiation ?

AJ: I pm you with a C/T question.

Making a great car better is hard, but Dodge found a way, more power.

    I would think,fairly easily.My 03 srt dead stock pulled 193.5,with 442 rwhp,and 3400 lbs.Add 100hp to the wheels,and reduce weight by 250lbs,it should be in the 210-212 range I would think.

Hey Ralph. They have made about 60 CC's so far.You have to have a Racing affiliation to get one first hand, and they are not sold by Dodge directly.Wayne had one for a short time.By the time you get the options on them, the air jacks, seats, and get it painted, they are in the 140 range now. There have been a couple available that have not been raced yet.You dont need a racing affiliation to buy them second hand. Here's some pics of the one Im going to look at.Only 1hr of track time on the motor.

I forgot about your pm.Sorry.I will get back to you. A.J.

Just an FYI on the Carbon Coupe performance guys... this is nothing but a SRT-10 Viper with a molded on hardtop. They took some of the panels and fabricated them out of carbon fiber...BFD. The engine performance is achieved by swapping the single throttle body and adding the 10 throttle bodies. This nets out to adding 120 to 160 HP at the wheels and 1,200 to 1,700 rpm to the red line. Not bad for adding a little better intake, right?

If DC has the balls to come out with the hatchback Coupe for the Viper, it should be a real a$$ kicker and put out 600-650 HP in a normally aspirated model (torque can hit 700 ft-lbs. without breaking a sweat). It's just too bad the Germans just hate the American muscle cars... and their low-tech approach to cars and performance.

So what is this perrformance gong to do for the likes of the GT and the Viper Killer Z06 Vette? It'll just piss them off all over again.

Something tells me that the new Z06 that will be making around 500 horsepower will bring on more than enough competition for the viper. And as far as the Blue Devil project goes, forget about it. The new vettes are fire breathing monsters.

And on another note, with the Dodge SRT, the SS needs the 400HP engine, or Chevy can forget about selling that thing.

They allready are having trouble selling it. Maybe if they solved all there problems like Ford did and slapped a supercharger on it everything would be allright.

I had #22. The first group got the cars at 100k plus options mine cost me 113k. The later cars as I remember were 129k plus options. One extreme
total race machine from the ground up.
