FRIDAY, 04. JUNE What a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!! (I will try to make the write up with pics in a chronicle order from Friday Sunday) I have had the pleasure to get invited by Jim G. a.k.a. Napolis for a weekend trip to New York. Jim is an awesome great class act. I realy don`t know how to thank you Jim? I wish I can give you a bit back on your trip to Europe. I have got a very warm welcome from Jim, his lovely wife and his daughter from the first minute on. After a 8 hours trip from Frankfurt to New York, I have been picked-up by a Limo-Service at JFK who drove me to Jim`s private house. After 1 hour drive I arrived at Jims house ..amazing, breathtaking house and surrounding thats all I can say (for sure and for personal reasons NO pics!) I have had the honor to stay in house for the whole weekend yes, he is a great one! After my arrival, he showed me his wonderful garage with all the great cars in each detail! Joe, who did the wonderful restoration on the LOLA explained every detail on this stunning race-car to me , thanks buddy! - Ford GT 40 MK IV - LOLA T70 - Duesenberg 1931 After the garage inspection we drove with his Maserati to his store to see the Ferrari 330 P4. Jim and Salva (Sizilian Master Mechanic working for Jim on his P4) showed me every detail on his P4 restoration. WOW ..and there is realy nothing to be discussed on this 100% all original P4. I have personal seen all the details, documents and many, many more never shown very interesting marks on the P4. Yes, thats the ONE! In the evening we have had a wonderful dinner together with his wife, daughter, Joe and Tom a.k.a. tifosi. Tom came over from New Jersey just to meet us for the dinner! Great to meet you Tom!! First day gets to his end after 26 hours on the road .driving back home to Jim to take some sleep for Saturday. Here are the pics from the first day in chronicle order .enjoy and be patient for the Saturday and Sunday report.
Don't mean to interupt your pictures but just want to add that it was a pleasure meeting you at the GC, please return soon!
Hi Kenny, thanks and it was my pleasure to meet you and all the other gents....wait for the write up of the GC with many, many pics
SATURDAY, 05. JUNE After breakfast we drove with the Maserati again to Jim`s shop. Yes, the 330 P4 is the most wonderful car I have ever seen - just to die for! After a mexican lunch we drove to the Greenwich Concours. Saturday was the Show for the real old vintage cars: Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Tucker .a.s.o. They change the whole stock for the Sunday show with race cars?!? Amazing, a 2 days show with 2 different set ups of cars! To me, the most amazing, rare and beautiful car was the Bugatti Atlantic!!!!!!! After the show we drove home to Jim, taking a shower and get well dressed for the exhibitors GALA-DINNER. We drove together to the Golf Club and gents its impossible to tell you just breathtaking! What a wondeful place! The dinner was fantastic, the Band played some wonderful Glen Miller stuff and I have had the pleasure to meet Suzanne & Richard Fritz and some other great gents. What a wonderful evening!!! Sadly, we left very early to drive back home next day we have to stay up very early in the morning for the Concours. Jim wants to show up with his LOLA and yes he did! Enjoy the pics and wait for the SUNDAY write-up
