Just a note. the lunch is $25.00 per driver and $25.00 per guest......the balance is a tax deduc contribution to a non profit org.that the lambo club has chosen to patronize.

You Guys do Pay Taxes, dont you?

    REPRINT

Please RSVP to Richard Solomon. Checks will be made out to Consumer Reports for $100 per person (add $25 per guest), and sent to Richard at 305 East 50th St., NYC, 10022. The fee covers lunch, organizational expenses, and a $70 tax deductible contribution to Consumer Reports. We will provide more specific information and maps to those that respond. The Testing Facility can only accomodate a limited number of guests, therefore we expect this event to be quickly sold out. Please respond ASAP.

    Bradley,

Manhattan Motors on Saturday morning at 7:15 / 7:30 should be very quiet, so I don't think it should be too difficult to go through the Brooklyn Battery tunnel or one of the bridges and come around the tip of Manhattan, East side hwy / West side hwy, and come off at 23rd street. We will not be meeting the other cars unless the streams happen to be in the same place at the same time, which very well may occur. We probably will have more than 50 cars in Manhattan,

    Richard.

Guys please dont be cheap and come on the run and not pay. We are going to do a head count in the morning before we leave and let the caterer know how many are showing up. If you can't afford the $100 please dont come. If you dont want to stay for the track part, atleast dont stifff the organizers. A lot of time and effort was put into getting this together, its easier if the books add up at the end.

Looks like I'm going to have to bow out for the Running of the Bulls Saturday. Due to an illness on my wifes side of the family, she will have to go visiting updstate for the day, and I will be sitting my 2&4 year olds. You don't know what work is until you have two little girls kicking your butt all day. Just hope they don't kill me:).
I think I'm going to take a quick road trip up to Rockland early Sunday morning to see my buddy's new house, than I'll swing past Pchop's on the way back. -MICHAEL

if I have to I will pay money is not the issue but I do think it's funny that If I just wanted to drive with you guys for a hour or so that I would have to pay 100 bucks so i guess that means that if i just saw you guys on the trpk and followed you for a little bit that entitles me to give them a hundred bucks or it would be bad exotic car driving ediquit.

Dont get me wrong like i said I will pay it's just the issue in hand about I have to pay in order to drive with you guys seems very shallow and snooty eliteists.

I can understand if you guys dont want to in a way invite not so visualy stimulating other cars along and it might brake up the exotic caravan and thats why you say "hey you gotta pay just to ride with us" but I cant see if the cars that are along for the ride are that of such exotics as are in the caravan as well and if anything are making that caravan more inticeing to look at.

think of the ROE or even FOLI event you didnt have to pay to drive with them and there were plenty of people at FOLI that tagged along in there 575's for a hour and turned around. But if you wanted to eat and particapate then yes you had to pay. Which i did pay for both events because i particapated and ate.

I hope i am not sounding cheep by stateing what I think is right because if what they are asking for is a donation I would be the first to donate 100 bucks in a heart beat and then put 100 bucks down under each of my tires and do a few burnouts to boot. This is not what botheres me it's the fact that you said "if you cant afford it then dont come". What come to see my friends? or come to see you guys off ?or come to drive out of the city with you? Or is it dont come and exspect to eat and particapate?

Sorry if i offended some but i am not here to tip toe i just say whats on my mind. Wich in most cases gets me into trouble

if I might say rob you havent payed for your subscription yet so is it safe to say that you are on a ferrari chat ride for free?

i agree with brad, except for putting the 100 under the tires and doing burnouts! =)

but seriously, i am not cheap and not trying to get a freebie out of the
event. so i take offense to that. i just wanted to cruise on a sunny
saturday morning in my car (an exotic) with my friends fellow exotic owners, and then drive off to do other things i have planned for the day. if i sit down and eat, or even take a step on the tour, i completely understand paying
the required fee, whether it be 100 or 200 or whatever. like brad said,
money is not a problem or even an issue, i dont think i should be labeled cheap or required to pay 100 to go to mmc (which is practically next door to
where i live) to drive with you guys out to ct.

brad, i say we do a Running Without The Bulls*it!

rob, no beef on my end btw... you coming out to dinner with us tonight?
we are having steaks, so theres beef at the restaurant! =)

I think Rob is reacting because he has taken the time to coordinate this event (time and energy...thank you) and he doesn't want people coming along for the ride to become a "habit" for these types of events. If folks know that you can "tag along" for free and then just head back, then Rob will eventually have a problem raising the funds that he needs in order to make this event happen. I personally would like to see you all come along regardless of whether you pay or not...but at the same time, you know that Rob will hear about it from certain folks (cheap bastards!) and as a result not enjoy the event like he and everyone else should. With that said...I'll take the 4 bills that you plan to put under the tires Brad! It'll come in hand for gas and the potential John Q. Law bill that is inevitable on a day like this coming Saturday. I look forward to seeing you all out there (paid or not)...it's going to be an incredible day!

BTW, I didn't pay for my subby either yet and I'm driving a 911...hence feel free to ignore my post. ;-)

Sorry brad, we've been getting bugged by consumer reports for an accurate count on who's coming up. I am not calling you cheap nor am i directing the "not being able to afford it" comment to you. I've had a problem with NSX guys recently where they just wanna drive up to the gates, turn around and go home. Our arrangement is going to be communicate from each location in the morning with a head count and how many cars show up so we can give the number of atttendees to the caterer's and to the testing facility. If we call in 100 people then 70 people actually enter the gate, we look bad and we have food for 30 people that has to be paid for. Realize this trip is not for profit, especially on my end, I am paying to do it as well. So any shortcomings come out of the organizers pockets. I dont mind paying my share, but i dont want to have to cover other people.

If the descrepency wasn't $25 a person i wouldn't really mind. Sorry, hope this clarifies where i am coming from. This culminated from the frustration of a bunch of 91-93 nsx owers recently.
    See you guys tonight

pOINT taken now i understand what you are saying but the fact is yes rob has done a lot of good things in the past. but I dont think it would ever come to people not paying to eat and particapate in what the facility has to offer that is expected. But if my wife has plans and i have to stand by those plans and in doing so I can take a nice saturday drive with a few of my friends and see some cool lambos and such i should not have to pay for being next to those cars on a highway.

There are plenty of people i am sure that dont own ferrari's on the forum that have payed for there subscription because they like the knowledge I tell you what if you and rob pay for a subby right now i will pay to ride with the guys on saturday and still not eat or particapte take it as a donation for the elite!

I will even throw 180 dollars out the window when I pass you guys going 180mph
