I've been racing Sport 2000's for about 8 years now and just made the move up to a Formula Atlantic, I just tested the car at Putnam Park. That thing is pure automotive crack! It's unbelievable how much more speed it can carry through the corners with the tunnels, wings and huge soft tires. The brakes are phenominal, it seems like it can go from 170 to zero in about eighty feet. My shoulders and neck are still sore from the G forces of testing for a full day. In long corners your blood doesnt return sufficiently to your heart from the G's so your heart starts pumping faster. The engine is a real screamer, redline is 9,750. It sounds like an F1 car. My ears are still ringing because I didn't have my earplugs in.

I will be running my first race in it at the SCCA June Sprints at Road America June 20th.

    Wish me luck.

    - P.S. Guess the color

(I have a 1 MB .avi movie with good sound if some one wants to host it.)

    Looks absolutely awesome.

For those of us not in the know - what series exactly are you participating in? Is it a privateer kind of thing, or?

Atlantic are powered by Toyota, and basically the notch under CART or IRL. Very fast.
A friend of mine briefly participated in the championship a couple years ago (J.F. Dumoulin).
From what I remember seeing in the pits, the big boys have the big wallet (read full support semi, impressive setup) ...

This is very cool!! Keep us updated!!

It's a Ralt RT 40/41. Used to run in the Toyota Atlantic Pro series. I will be running it in SCCA National races in the Formula Atlantic class.

Decent ones run about $55 - 60K ready to race.
