Went to a track day today, nothing but wet laps. However, some nice machines were there. Had a good time, the Mondial t felt good.

Continental Auto Sports held the event. Too bad about the rain, but class act people & quality attendence are always good to see.

Looks fun - saves wear and tear on the ol' tires, too.

Nice looking 308GTB on the trailer in the background...

    Cheers

WOW, love that purple Mondial... Awesome...

Looks like there was a broad array of cars there... Nice to see folks getting to the track in the rain... It DOES say, right there in the manual, that Ferraris won't melt in the rain... i guess some people DO read the manual...

Michael, could you expound on your license plate...? BACHSTR = Bachster...? Boxster...?

I believe it says "BACHSIR", with an "I", not a "T".

    This is "BOXER"

Maserati Ghibli! I could have had one for $7500 that was slowly rotting away in a parking lot while vandals broke out the glass. Hood was loose, cylinder head was off, ragged interior. That was over 10 years ago. I often wonder where the car went.

I am glad you guys like the photos.

NNO... The "purple" Mondial is actually mine. Thanks for the kind words. It was impressive at the track day to say the least. Strong 3.4 in the t. I am pretty smitten with it to date.

The 512BBi with the "Boxer" plate is just that (reference to the engine style). It was a wonderful car to look at. Check this shot from the rear (look at those headers!).

Fun track... had a blast with my 308, but it is really not a track car. Got to blast around the track in a guys Elise... WOW!

    I believe that Boxer is a 365 GT4 rather than a 512.

Holy smokes. Of course you must be correct. 365 it is.

This was indeed the Continental event. The date had been changed some time ago.

I did not get any other photos of the Daytona or the 308 in yellow. I spoke with the owners though - both cool gents.

Yes, that Saleen. One more shot of it:

I love the Saleen plate! Ahh, I can just picture all the uptight ol ladies complaining about that when they see it, "Who needs a car like that? Where would you ever go that fast? Why would you spend that...*wah*wah*wah*"

People with those attitudes make plates like that fun. Or one that says "BCSEICAN" I've seen an F-50 in WA that had "199 MPH" (don't know why he just didn't put 200)

Is the 365 guy a classical music fan?? Or was "Boxer" just taken already?

I'm going to show my ignorance here, so forgive me, but is the Ghibli the third car in the top group of photos ?

(I mean, the third photo in the first post, the silver/grey car)
