    To all,

I posted a series of questions below, one of which was on aftermarket wheels for the 550 and the question got buried in the rest. Thus once again, anyone have different wheels on the 550, which ones? (Size, type) Overall experience?

    Thanks

    G.

in the old archives there's a snap or two of stock wheels chromed. i kinda liked it, but never had the cojones to do it. worth dredging up the picture. try "doody 550 chrome bling" and you might dig it up.

otherwise i don't think i've ever seen a 550 with non-ferrari wheels - the stock or the multipiece.

I'll h ave to dig them up, but there's a black 550 with Fiske wheels on it that looks pretty good. Car is lowered and tinted and has car graphic exhaust.

Personally, I'm trying to find a set of rims which will look decent w/o attracting too much attention. If someone made the stock rims in a larger size.... Maybe I should try to find a set of 575 modulars.

how about the Barchetta wheels on a the 550 coupe? They look great...anyone have any trouble with them.

There hardly seems to be any 550 aftermarket wheels on EBay..lots of 360 wheels though

Aren't the Barchetta wheels the same as the '01 550 wheels? And if so what is the cost?

    I put 19" 575 modular rims on my '00 550. 305 rear and 255 front. Some pics here: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=885

They have a slightly more direct feel, probably due to the smaller tyre side-walls. At the track they give a very nice turn in and the larger tyre width makes drifting it out of turns even more fun!!

As for the question regarding these rims leaking air: my ones have never leaked.

How about 19" Modular wheels for 575M, should be the same for 550. I am waiting for the rear tires from tire rack and will post some photos when they are on

I don't know whether the dealer changed them or not. Would you like me to find out?

Sure if you can, thanks for the info.

Did you have to replace the brake caliper as well?? I hope not, I am thinking of just replacing the rotors to minimize the squeal noise. I just replace the pad to Porterfield Rs4 but still a bit squeal. Found radiating microcracks on the OEM rotors.

Does anyone know the correct offsets of the factory rims? I am ordering a set of custome rims very similar to the 575M 19" wheels. I have done a few searches an have thus far come up with 44mm front, 46mm front and 32mm rear. I will be using custom offsets as I use wheel spacers, so need to know what the orignal offsets are exactly, preferably without having to pull the wheels off.
