Does anyone here belong to the FCA-CI chapter? THey were advertising Ferrari only parking at the FCA Hospitality site with a pass. It was only recent that I was able to make sure I would be going with my Fcar (long story). THe site now says they are sold out on the tickets for the race but mention nothing about parking passes. Several emails have gone unanswered. Does anyone have any contact info or any info in general?

THanks everyone! See you at the race! Stand H, Row 2 - close enough to smell the brake dust, rubber, and exhaust (and the occasional Jordan detonation!)! Can't think of a better way to spend Father's Day!

    Jim,

Ithink the FCA-CIC has stopped selling tickets and passes. but i am sure if you go to the VFW they might allow you to park with the rest of the Ferrari's there.

The FCA-CIC hospitality center and parking is at the VFW, as Rob said, which is on Georgetown just north of 16th, and the cost is $20. Alternatively, if you are an FCA club member, you can get a free pass to park the Ferrari at the Car Corral. Call the track for that pass. The Car Corral is in the infield near turn 10. Its a long walk to Stand H, but the infield is fun to visit as the team trailers and Museum are there. Enjoy the race.

    Thanks Rob, Boxer!

I was wondering if I just showed up whether I could just poke my nose in!

I did not know about the corral parking. That would be a good option for Sat. as I am a FCA member. I read somewhere were the Hospitality Club is a great place to go after the race, grab a bite to eat, people watch, and wait for the crowds to disperse. I think we will do that this year since we stop to eat just a few hours outside Indy anyway. Unfortunately, due to work, I can not make it Friday for practice, the Fcar cruise and the Gathering - AARRRGGGHHH!!!

I have had the same tickets since the first USGP. THey were my third choice and I could not be happier, since I have sat all over the track and there is no better place!

Are any of you guys going to be at the Hospitality Club? Hope to see you there!

    Jim

I am not 100% sure if i will be at the hospitality center on Sunday or not. They are having a formula BMW race after the GP and depending on weather it might be a good oportunity to get some shots of cars sliding off of the track in the wet.

Are you going to the F-Chat Dinner on saturday evening?

    Rob,
No, I have to beg off. We have been making our annual pilgrimage to a BBQ place south of the city on Saturday nights. THe place has AWESOME food!

Speaking of cars slipping and sliding - do you remember the Ferrari Challenge race of a few years ago in the rain? All sorts of slipping and sliding going into that first turn! And even some contact!! One guy got turned around and watched the whole pack go screaming past with no one in absolute control! He had to have been ready to change his shorts on that one!

THe Formula B'mers will be interesting. If I don't see you at the Hospitality Club, as you go up the steps in H (closest to the start/finish) look to the left, I will be in the second row - Ferrari shirt, hat, etc. I'm sure I will be the only one dressed like that!

    Aloha!
    Jim

Did you say rain?!?!?! I may be taking a diferent car!

I miss the Ferrari challenge race at Indy :(

I am not sure what i will be wearing other than a Ferrari or MS hat, Pants and more than likely a t-shirt form 1 of the past 4 races.... Oh yeah i will be lugging around about 30 pounds of photo gear also ;)

Last year i had all of my Ferrari Gear on and was sitting in a sea of BMW fans... One of them said how dare you wear that hat amongst us???? So i slipped on my Ferrari red rain poncho and said how do you like me now??? :D

Remember this is Indy who knows what the weather will be doing out there?

    Enjoy

    Rob

THis was probably covered here, so please bear with me since I am relatively new... What is the story behind the Challange race NOT being at Indy anymore? Who want to just see a bunch of overated VW bugs tooling around!!! ;0)

BTW, you might appreciate this. I am toying with bringing my Pentax 6x7 and a long lens. It is a bear to tote around, and unless you have a pass the photo ops are limited. Of course there ARE oportunities in the stands.... But then it pays to just have a little digital - you can run faster! I have a ton of equipment left over from when I did horse shows. Just can't seem to sell it - they make the best glass in the biz, IMHO.

Here is the thread on the F-Chat dinner. you might want to send Rob Lay a PM to see if there he is still adding names to the list or not. This happens to be the same resturaunt that we went to last year and the food if fantastic.
