I was not suggesting to buy cuban cigars in Brazil. I agree that they are quite expensive there. What I had in mind where Brazilian puros ... I adore cuban cigars (and don´t like most of the DomRep stuff), but I have to admit that there are a handful of Brazilian vitolas which are definitely a match for the cubans.
Whart, Agree the fakes are getting VERY good from what i have been hearing. This has caused all official boxes sold on the Island to receive a special hologram and according to the news they check the box and your receipt at customs. Also agree proper storage is key. FYI: Am just sharing what others have been talking about on various discussion boards. As i see photos of fakes online it amazes me how good they are getting. Heck, even the fake Louis Vuitton luggage folks are getting QUITE GOOD at their craft!
Well, since today marks 40, I figured that when I get home from having my Dabney and Lobster Fra Diavalo at Dan Tana's...I'd break out some HEAVY artillery of my own! DL
Agreed in that Brazil has MANY wonderful things. Speaking only for myself... ...the women would come first (ahh yes, good ol' "word play" )
I'll second, third and fourth that! BTW, Steven to answer your question...whenever someone comes here on vaca, I ask them to load up on Do Ponto for us (6 bags at a time). DL
Last August i bought a box of what i suspected to be fake Cohibas while in Varadero from a 'guy on the beach', even they had the hologram on the box and all of the papers inside. I dont know how well it compares to the real hologram, but it was pretty convincing.
