That's about the sorest loser summary I've ever seen in my life. You've got the right name, the Lakers got WAXED by the Pistons.
HERE ARE 203907619087321346892489021325 reasons why Detroit should not have won. http://www.ci.detroit.mi.us/ BUT GUESS WHAT GENIUS........THEY WON!!!! SO those 203907619087321346892489021325 reasons don't matter. bringing Basketball back to the EAST!!!!
Hoo-boy... Reminder: I'm not a Lakers Fan. Just another Pearls-before-Swine creative writing exercise aka Humor. Cheaters.
The better team won. The Lakers should have been swept. Officiating didn't cost LA the championship but their effort did. If the Pistons can keep Rasheed they will have a chance to win it all again next year. It was nice to see that teamwork can still win championships in the NBA.
One thing I find pretty interesting is that the owner of the Pistons also owns the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Detroit Shock, and they all won championships this year. Amazing!
The amazing thing... the Lakers won only one game because of a lucky, last second shot by Kobe... I never thought the Pistons would dominate like this! I'm glad they won!
I will tell you who cost LA the victory... not the officials... It was a one two knock out punch. ONE) Malone was the first blow... he was too chicken to play. He just wanted his ring. That is all he cared about. He did not care about the Lakers or the laker fans. he only moved to LA for the ring... HHAHAHAHA... jokes on him! TWO) Larry Brown did wonders to make that team a winning team. he is too modest to talk about it but, he did an amzing job as coach. I wish him the best of luck for coaching the US Olympic Team at Athens Olympics this summer. Bring home the gold Larry.
True Larry Brown is an amazing basketball mind. He is so focused on hoops it is just great to see him take it all the way. I don't agree with your first point though. It may be true that Malone wanted to win the ring, but how does that fact cost them the championship? I firmly believe he would have played if he could have contributed in any positive way. Malone is a warrior and he has been proving it to the NBA for 20 years. Maybe each of those seasons ended in with an "L", but his career overall was a success.
Malone is a foxy character. He is to blame for LA's loss. The Lakers built their game around Malone, Shaq and Kobe. Fisher and others were just support structures. Take out Malone and 1/3 of the Laker game is flushed down the drain. Malone promised is 100% when he came to LA. Fact of the matter is that when Malone came to LA he was 40, he was an old player in greed of a ring and he was not even 80% of what he was before. There was no way he could give LA his 100%. He had given his 100% to Utah in 97 and 98. He lost those finals to the Bulls. He should have accepted the fact that a champioship title was not to be. By not performing at the level he promised and by not playing last night in the crucial game 5 ( injury... blah blah blah) he cost LA the title.
