I stopped at Ferrari dealership in my 550. The salesman showed me a Porsche Carrera GT. The mileage was nil. Besides the various technical stuff, the two unique design appointments were both on the side of the car.

The first is the reversed scoop from the front wheel well. This allows much more air over the brakes. The only cost is the debris from the road will be thrown up into the door panels. I do not think the 3M tape will stop the hurt.

Secondly was how the Porsche designers put small doors in the width of the doors. They are above the latching of the door. The salesman said the pockets were made for your driving gloves. Not a bad idea at all.

This is the very first Porsche I have ever liked.

Never drive less than 12 cylinders. (Well, maybe 10 cylinders)

The MSRP was $430,000. The Salesman said the dealership rejected $575,000 offer. At that point, I knew it was out of my pay range. I did not even ask to drive it.

He should have taken it! The CGT will plummet soon just like all the other Porsches of late thanks to the huge production.

At that price it would not be a "keeper" for me. The real premium is slight
not the supposed 575 the guy" turned down", so the quick flip nets very little in terms of capital tied up.

I was at Circle Imports in Long Beach, getting my Jetta serviced today, and they mentioned that they just got their (one and only) Carrera GT in yesterday. It's silver in color. It is not sold yet, and should be in the showroom in a day or two after they finish getting it prepped. They are located on Lakewood Blvd, just North of Pacific Coast Hwy. I'll probably stop by on Saturday, after seeing the Player's Run cars at the Queen Mary hotel.

A few more CGTs on showroom floors and they'll be competing for buyers within a few months.

I'm surprised nobody ordered a CGT from this dealer (maybe it's being flipped...). LA has to be one of Porsche's best marketing areas.

I was there with Dr Michael Jones who delivered one of the saleman's children. The salesman let my son, Colin, sit in the car. It has been sold since it came to one of the LA Times owners. They had delivered one earlier to Tim Allen.

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this analogy but as incredible as the Porsche GT may be - consider this: the same $430,000 could buy you a new 360 Spyder, a new S55, a new Land Rover, and a nice vacation somewhere! But then again - I don't have $430,000 to spend on either option so it's a mute point! :)

But for $430,000 you WONT get an Enzo! Or an F50. But you could get a nice F40 and an early 360 :)
