Yeah, sorry I completely forgot Martin. I planned to call on the way to Indoor tonight. If you want, E-mail me a time and a place that I can take a look at the boat and I'll be there. I'm pretty flexible this weekend but Im going to Sanibel on Monday until Wednesday.

My email is [email protected]. I'll give you a call tomorrow just in case.

By the way, offer still stands for the Cabana boy on that lady's yacht! ;)

The day you get it and the day you sell it:)

If I want a Yacht I'll call Carnival;) I can go through about $1200 in gas in a weekend so I can only imagine what those bigboys cost:eek: But there is nothing more fullfilling than cruising at 80mph when everyone else is topped out, then blowing past them at about 110+mph:D

Speed is cool but uncomfortable as $h!+!!! Sit down style so you do get lower back pain and a bit cramped in the cockpit...Also no real cabin since this boat is all about speed....And it can be yours for $400k;) Original cost was $540k...

I love the finishes on the Outerlimits. Much better than most other boats.

As I said though, I am not a boat person. I can see myself in a sailboat in the Caribbean but that is about it.
The trip on the open water for me was not that much fun. Light chop and you hammer up and down, get sprayed with salty water....ugh. I guess I am more a Dock to Restaurant kind of guy :)

I tried to fix the navigation light yesterday, almost fell in the water, drowned a screw driver and ripped the switch off the console.

Yep, ask me to help you fix your Ferrari :)

If you want to take her out, I'll help you. If not me, find someone with a modicum of experience to assist you. You really should have at least one person on the boat that really knows what they are doing. Particularly on a boat with that kind of power. Like a 911 on the race track - bad things can happen fast.

I figured its time to chime in. Beautiful go fasts. I am in Corsica now headed south to Sardina. We figure my boss's family vacation for 3 weeks will cost 600K. So the moral is stick to the small boats. 400 for fuel? Try 20K for a full tank here. And thats only on a 123' boat. Seriously, Enjoy them.

$600,000 come fast for a vacation.

If you use the damn boat only 3 weeks out of the year:

    1 captain $ 100,000
    3 stewards $ 150,000
    1 waitress/help $ 40,000
1 of the best Chefs in the world $ 200,000 :)))
    gas $ 100,000
    repairs and maintenance $ 150,000
trip down to your yacht in your private jet $ 80,000

Being on the deck of your own yacht watching the Monaco GP from the marina.....PRICELESS

Me thinks you underestimate. Generally go by the 20% rule - although for a boat or a helicopter it is generally more like the 35% rule.

My friend's boat, which is in the 180 foot range, runs a bit over a million per year to operate. She carries 14 in crew including a dog sitter - they have their own room - and the helicopter pilot.

Our boat, which is in the 50 foot range, costs about 100K per year to operate - without any crew.

Those numbers represent "unused" cost. Of course, it is far more expensive to RUN the boat. Marine gas is about $2.50 per gallon and marine desiel is about 2.10 per gallon. Average consumption is close to 50 GPH, depending, of course, on the size of the boat and the speed that it is travelling.

Martin for those kind words; you can find me a 348 when I get home in October. Dam french key boards lol. Just to ship the boat round trip is 1050 dollars a foot. 250 Grand right there. Car service in Monaco is a fortune. My stewardess had Juan Pablo Montoya's boat for the grand prix. We are all invited next year they say. I mentioned Ferrarichat to their Captain. Nigel Mansell is currently looking for a chef but the boat is too small. 95 footer. BTW you can't really see the race from the boats unless you are high up. You have to watch the jumbotron. Off to Sardina. I can't believe they pay ME for this stuff. I miss my car though.
    Chefrobear.
P.S. I can't wait to go to one of your dinners. I promise I'll be kind,LOL.

No iceboats for Florida, but here's the next best thing. Standart Landyacht. It'll only do 70 mph, but it's still alot of fun back home in Brooklyn.
