    Great photography!

Did you have special access or is access in Le Mans a lot looser than at a F1 GP?

    Some info about LeMans

1.) The Audi teams are all fully private teams. Each team has assistance from the factory with technical personal, etc., but run the cars themselves. I should know, I am the technical director for Team Goh, which just happened to win this year.

2.) The 550 Ferrari is a very good car-done by Prodrive. The 575 car is a piece of junk-right now-and is done by the factory. (Actually Ferrari contracted with an outside engineering/race group) to do the 575 GTS car. The 575 could be better, with time and money, but is not in the same league as the 550 or Corvette-sorry.

3.) The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is a well sorted car with it's biggest advantage over the 360 being a smaller frontal area. Since both cars have similar power levels (due to the restrictors) the Porsche has a better top end at LeMans. At Monza the cars were more equal. Again, I speak from experience--Team Goh ran a 911 at LeMans this year and came in 2nd in class, after the #1 factory Porsche team.

Agreed. I spoke to one of the 575 drivers during the race and asked about the lack of speed. He merely nodded and stated "the car is only 4 months old". Hopefully by next year it can have a go at the Corvettes.

Audi does not have a factory team now. All the R8's running are private teams. They get to use the factory wind tunnels and such but are financed by private funds. They stopped factory sponsorship after their third win at Lemans.
