I'm in a phase now with my car where silly little things are starting to fail due to material fatigue. Went for a drive a few hours ago, and after stopping for gas, noticed that the magnet that holds the fuel filler door closed broke in half. Luckily I found the broken half on the floor next to the rear tire. Can't imagine how much an entire assembly costs, but I'll try to repair the magnet. Crazy glue? Any suggestions?

Next up, the front bonnet release handle. The plastic handle housing is held in place by a single screw, which was probably overtorqued at some point, split. Orderd a new handle from Maranello Auto Parts, then tried to replace it today. Good luck! First, you need tiny fingers, and the spine of a contortionist. Undoing the nut that holds the cable to the latch handle is easy, but I haven't firgured out how to slip the metal loop off of the threaded spur of the handle. Not enough slack or leverage, and my needle nose pliers weren't long enough. Tried it with the front bonnet opened and closed, that didn't seem to make a difference. Then, assuming I can slip the loop off, it has to pass through a tiny hole in the back of the housing (and vice versa for reassembly). No way this is going to happen unless I cut the loop off of the cable. Not brave enough to try that yet.

Suggestions, anyone? This one may go to my mechanic.

You can fix almost anything with JB Weld. I love that stuff.

Len I think I know what your talking about as these little fiddly things are happening to me also.My front bonnet lever snapped and a replacement was quite expensive.I had a lever cast made up and had it made out of cast alloy.I did a guy a favour by looking at his A/c unit and he didn't charge me for the cast.I had to fiddle with it a bit as the cast wasn't perfect but in the end it came out just perfect. Now for your problem. If the cable set up is like my GT4 then you have to loosen the cable at the two catch mechanism's located on either side of the bonnet and with the slack that you have you should be able to hook the loop on.This procedure is for the GT4 but I think the principle should be the same.I just had a look at the 308gtb/s spare parts manual and noticed that it has only one catch mechanism in the centre but from what I can see of it the above theory should still appy. Hope this helps and hope you didnt have to cut the cable. PS: What is the front bonnet release handle worth? LOL

Thanks Maurice. I figured I might have to loosen the cable at the source. The OEM handle was about $120.
