If anyone gets real serious on this car, I am 15 minutes away from the seller and will be happy to check it out.

    Hmm,

This guy is hawking dolls and now a Ferrari according to his Ebay feedback. I'd ask a few questions.

My 01 red/tan F1 is sitting on Algar Ferraris floor, lower miles and perfect. Could be just me but I think when you spending that kind of money, I'd feel safer with a dealer.

IT"S EBAY.....anything on Ebay should be looked at with suspicion. I've already lost a 'deal' for a Ferrari on Ebay. Some of the cars you're looking at don't actually exist, or the seller does not really own.

this is such a common issue whenever there is a ferrari on ebay, well any expensive car on ebay. as usual if you really want to buy it check with the guys on here. they'll set it straight.

Seems like a pretty good price, eh? I sent the seller an e-mail asking for the VIN and some additional pics. Didn't ask about accident history, though. We'll see.

Wonder if the seller wants a lot of financial info before agreeing to pre-approve sellers? That might be the hook?

No VIN + no pics are 2 huge red flags to me.

PS - Agree with the referral to Algar. My old traded in silver '99 360 is at FoW, as well. This has been discussed before, but I view the dealer "premium" as cheap insurance in most cases.

Might be that someone has highjacked their Ebay ID.
I wouldn't spend any $ without seeing it in person.

Considering if this was legit they could take it to any Ferrari dealer and get this in cash I would say stay clear. If people are going to try and scam others at least make the price somewhat believable!

this is one of the older tricks on EBay. No VIN number, very low price, and you must give a deposit of 5000 after the auction is over or when you press the buy it now button..and you must do it within 48 hours. Chances are, there is no car, and you just lost 5000 dollars.

Looks like the seller was hijacked. Rates a 72 with no negative and now is listed as not a registered user. We receive e-mails weekly with a return address @ebay.com directing us to a website to update our info. It looks very real eith eBay logos and coppyright marks but it is a fake website designed to get your info.
Before you respond to anything from eBay send the e-mail to [email protected] for verification. I have sent over 25 to them and not one was the real thing.

i've been playing with the lister on Ebay...apparently the car is now in Lisbon, Portugal, and, of course, they (she) wants the $5k deposit up front... :) What moron would do that?...they deserve to be seperated from their money! :)

Dave - I sort of enjoy playing with these folks, too. Incidentally, I don't get the vibe that this person really is a woman - do you?

Hard to say Will, the messages are so short....:

    "Hello Dave,

The winner of the auction backed off so the car is avaialable for sale if
    you are interested.

    Regards,
    Diane"

    Hello Dave,

I will be sending the car from Portugal, Lisbon. It is a US car and it is
100% compatible with the US standards.

    Thanks, Diane"

    "Hello Dave,

The car will arrive in aprox.2 weeks. Before I will start the shippment to
your address I will need a deposit of 5,000 usd from you as a ferm
commitment that you intend to buy it.

    Thanks, Diane"

    What do you think???????

I can't tell, either, it's just the "too fast and to furious" reference didn't seem quite right for a woman.

I think the only way we'll know for sure is if you offer to hand "her" your $5,000 check personally over dinner and drinks. Are you willing to take one for the team?
