Who is your favorite F1 driver of all time?

    My pick is Ayrton Senna.

I would have to say Schumi. I am also big Zanardi fan, even tho he didn't do well in F1.

    Senna for ability
    Shumacher for consistancy

I too love Zanardi because he was a genuine person to the fans. In F1 he struggled, but in CART he was exciting to watch.

    Toss up....Senna or Schumacher

Senna for pure passion and ability...nobody comes close.
Schumacher for his skill, and sheer consistancy. The best of the current generation..hands down.

Pete, never letting go of an opportunity to throw some gasoline into the fire: Schumi and Prost ahead of the holy Senna? Big grin on my face.

But why Lauda? He was great, no question, but that great? I'm only an armchair racer, so I have no right to judge, but I do it anyway: Lauda threw the championship away in Fuji by being a sissy. Enzo never forgave him for that and I have a hard time understanding it myself (I know, he just survived Nuerburg, but still). Comments?

Lauda was a great driver, but not at all exciting to watch. Very calculated, much like Prost. Did what he needed to win, and not much more.

    Here's my top 10;
    1) Ayrton Senna
    2) Michael Schumacher
    3) Juan Manuel Fangio
    4) Jimmy Clark
    5) Alain Prost
    6) Jackie Stewart
    7) Alberto Ascari
    8) Gilles Villeneuve
    9) Sterling Moss
    10) Nigel Mansell

True, but in Fuji he didn't even do that. Just gave up while the Championship was at stake.

I've listed the drivers I would most like to watch:

    1) Nuvolari (a legend)
    2) Villeneuve (see above)
    3) Schumacher (a master)
    4) Irvine (more for personal reasons than him being a huge talent)
    5) Senna
    6) Rindt
    7) Cevert
    8) Moss
    9) Fangio
    10) Clark

Hehe. Same here. The guy certainly knows how to party. Gosh, I wish I'd bump into him one day in a Miami bar.

For the same reason I would have added Hunt and Rega to that list.

Fangio will always be a legend no matter how many titles MS wins. I have great admiration for MS, since he help bring Ferrari back to glory. The future lies between Alonso and Kimi .........

    Couldn't agree more.

Although some folks say the real future lies between Rosberg and Piquet. Junior that is.

I can see that happening, but a may be a little to early to predict. Furthermore, if Ferrari/Sauber can groom Massa....he could be thrown into the mix.

Rosberg jr. seems to be promising. Piquet Jr. less, but they just might give him a seat to have the ring of the name.

I like Massa a lot, but he would need a lot of grooming to make this list. I'm anxious to see him race again and see whether he learned something. Hopefully.

Most valuable driver for the team: Michael Schumacher.

Most talented driver and the only driver who could have won both in the 50th and today. (after reading a book about him there is only one number one there): Ronnie Peterson

The "No guts, no glory-award": Tazio Nuvolari.

    Ciao
