That's a 1948 Sparton 6-26 Incidentally, I found the Sparton ID photo-list here, though the fairly complete manufacturer list is here.
Thanks Wax That was a fabulous site for antique radios. Its in my fav's now. I love the old radios from the 30's, 40's & 50's. Thanks again.
Well, I've got a pair of Technic 1200 turntables with Stanton needles. Those are my babies! Also had a pair of L48 Cerwin Vega bass bins. Each carried 1 18" woofer with 4" voice coils and a magnet that weight a ton! Each bin was 4 feet by 4 feet by 2 feet. I was told they were specifically made for the movie "Earthquake" in the 70's, and when the bass rumbled people actually thought there was an earthquake. I guess it was the prequil to THX. They were too big and I dismantled the bins for firewood. Don't remember what happened to the speakers.
my great uncle (grandmothers aunts husband) invented those things over 100 yrs ago. Some of you might have heard of him before.
