Here are pics of my 99 550. The car is a Euro that has FHP, carbon fiber, painted calipers (red), daytona seats, and quilted rear shelf. Currently just over 10,000 miles.

Next on the to do list for me is to add the Capristo exhaust system which I ordered yesterday from Heiko. Also possible upgrades include a better stereo (the factory one SUCKS!!!) and the modular wheels - although I have not fully decided yet on the wheels. There are also a few small paint chips that I would like to have repaired on the very outside edge of the driver's door (have to look to see them).

Also, having replaced the brake pads with Ferodo pads, the brake squeal is totally gone (thank goodness!!!) and the brakes feel just as good if not better.

    Happy New Year All!!!

Georgous and clean! Love the black paint.

If you can get 575M style wheels though would look wonderful.

Have fun with it in good health!

If I had a 550 I would keep those wheels on it!! Just beautiful!

As for your car dwood1969 ,
Very nice! Love the color black on black!
Whenever I see that pic of the stick on that 6-speed manual gearbox... I'm imagining myseft in your 550 revving to the redline and then changing gears.

Congratulations dwood - beautiful car. The black on black is so imposing.

    Any thoughts on adding shields?

    Guys,
    Thanks for the kind comments....

    Joe,
If the car had come with the shields it would have been great. As it didn't I am probably not going to add them as they would not be flush with the fenders. You never know though....I may change my mind!!!

    John T,
I am in 2 minds about the wheels. I will probably wait for awhile before getting the modular wheels as I, too, like the regular factory wheels that are currently on it. Also the modulars are rather expensive so I would prefer to spend the money on other things right now.

    mrmckay,
I will post my impression and pics of the new Capristo exhaust when it is on. Hopefully by the end of the month....

    Later,
    David

Agree I think adding the shields will make the car looks more sharp, especially with black

I agree that the shields look sharp....just don't know if I want to "stick" them on the car instead of when they come from the factory and are inset into the fenders. Shelbee, I am guessing that yours came inset?

dwood - I see your point. Definitely something to consider. But especially since your 550 is black on black, the shields would be offset very nicely.

    shelbee - NICE!

Kuzi - I would live to see a nice pic(s) of your 575.

Very nice car, I do love black on black.

I, too, want to hear your impressions on the Capristo exhaust.

Regarding shields - DON'T DO IT! When they are stuck onto the fenders, it just looks wrong. When they come from the factory, the fender is stamped with an impression, and then mounted. Your car is beautiful the way it is. Aside from the exhaust, if it doesn't come from the factory, don't mess with it.

If you are considering wheels, I suggest HRE. Again, though, factory is the way to go!

It is the first option I look at when I buy F-cars. Off course it is factory optioned!!

It is very difficult to find a 456M with shields

I love Kuzi's car but I still prefer Black/tan with black carpet. I prefer tan over cuoio/natural or sabia
