I read on another forum that the Asian magazine "The Performer" compared the 996 GT3 RS to an Enzo on the Macau track ? Can anyone confirm that ?
There is an articule in Autocar mag this week comparing the 996 GT3 RS to the Stradale, which I can understand, but to the Enzo??? There would be no comparision!!
you should been given a rusted yugo to drive, for the rest of time, for making such a myopic statement. if this "test" actually did happen, i'd wager that the times would be much closer than all of you ASSume. the GT3RS is , more or less, a street legal cup car.
believe it or not... that car won the the virginia city hill climb 8 years in a row -- big ass wing and all. read about it here: http://www.nsxfiles.com/vc2001.htm
Here we go again, about a year ago there was a big war between P-cars and F-cars in this forum, I forgot who won the fight??
I dont see why any manufacturer needs to "win" at all. Cant we all just accept each others own preferences and learn to appreciate the other marques? They are all great, except Lamborghini
I saw your posting about your experience and excitement driving your friend's 575M. It is cool glad you had it
actually it does. you don't see it as a wing most of the time in pictures, but it automatically tilts up at a certain speed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You guys are worse than kids !! I just wanted to know if this comparo really happened..not start a P vs F war... Im wandering if this didihappen , maybe they used a 996 RS cup car ? I remember seing an F50 racing on that same track back in 1995 against a lot of diff Porsches , including some RUFs and it won ..maybe theres some kind of GT championship there ??
Racer_f50: You call that teeny thing a wing? I'm not in the camp of "only one," either. Just trying to lighten you guys up. The Enzo does seem to have a mythical quality, having less to do with "ye olde heritage" or even its pure performance, than with its outrageous looks. There is a great line in one of Don Delillo's early books, in which a guy gets into the back seat of a Cadillac for the first time, and is awed. The thug in front confirms, "yep, its a Cadillac, the Rolls-Royce of motorcars." And yep, Hugh, i know that Ruf is a real car. But, its still gotta be a ***** to drive downhill...
I think you meant the GT3RS and the 360CS and the track is actually the Zhuhai Int. Circuit and not Macau. The owner bought these to race in this year's Hong Kong Roadsports Championship and is testing to see which car is better for the race. Apparently these 2 cars are from the same owner and he's Philip Ma. He owns many many cars including the followings; Enzo F50 250GTO Carrera GT Porsche GT1 and more to list ..... They're both brand new car with delivery mileage only and with the original PZero Corsa system .. (street version). And surprisingly share the exact same lap time of 1min51sec. His F50 and Porsche GT1 did 1min mid-40s ...
At building boats.....hehe...sorry couldn't resist. Lambos are great but like Lotus they don't seem to sale all that well or keep their value. Oh, well still fast cars.
