They have made a change to qualification procedures. This year they will have 2 sessions on Saturday the first one goes off of points like this years friday session then after that run in the second session they will run on full tanks in reverse order of the first session. The main changes for 04 are the 1 engine per weekend rule. If you change an engine you lose 10 grid positions. Also all teams will get to run 3 cars in practice except for Ferrari, Mclaren, Williams, and Renault. there will be no more 2 hour private test session on Fridays. Rob
There is still to be 2 practice sessions on Friday. the question is will there be anyone running so they can save the engine from possible failure.
The sad part about all of this is, that Sunday's are still boring as hell until the red lights go out. No preshow racing, no warmup, nada. Doesn't matter to the TV audience, but if you're going to the race, well, bring "War and Peace".
