Hot off the presses, you're one of the first to know. Many FerrariChat.com users were there last year including Jano, Jennie, David, Mark McKenzie, Grady, and others.

Ferrari Club of America membership is required.

It's just a really fun weekend of socializing, enjoying the resort, rally, great food, great drink, and the easy going concours.

    Here's the entry form...

If all of the subsea equipment I am baby sitting tests out OK in late May early April I may be able to hit SA for this. Wife wants to see SA pretty bad.

Rob is right--this was a WONDERFUL event last year, and it looks to be a whole bunch better this time, since we actually know what we're doing now!!

I'm going to try to make it, not sure about the whole family piece though. I don't really want to spend the $$$ for something they're really not going to care about, but am not sure if I can get a weekend kitchen pass. Decisions, decisions.

Drivers Edge event at Motorsport that weekend. Hard to choose. Drive then drink or Stand and drink...

That wouls be an easy choice... drive then drink.
HOWEVER, the choice is "drive track with very few Ferraris" vs "drive street and walk around with lots of Ferraris". That makes for a much more interesting choice. ;)

DE & other track groups have events EVERY weekend of the year. San Antonio is just one weekend a year. Never many Ferraris at Drivers Edge, or one or two at most.

Hotel Update: Westin La Cantera is sold out for that weekend, both nights. I'm number 6 on the waiting list.

Does anybody know of a hotel close by?

Last year's post said Hill Country Hyatt Resort, so I think that's it.

You'll have to check how far away it is. The kids will love that place, but I recommend being close to all the action.

I checked it out, too far away. I looked all over and only found one other hotel anywhere near the Westin. It's only a mile away and has rooms for $75/night.

Cheaper than our hundred and something a night. :) That's good, this is a really fun event, but you'll want to be close as everyone is VERY social.

Only people with stereotypes of Ferrari people are the 99.9999% non-Ferrari people. The actual 00.0001% that have Ferraris have to be the most diverse interesting people I've ever met. Everyone from poor (me :)) to filthy rich, male & female, and then full range from the nicest people to the meanest. Only thing at all about Ferrari people is they tend to be eccentric, I guess if we weren't, then we would buy any old car.

I think you are right about this. I have noticed this with the Audi people too. Anyway I have sent my check to Al and this will be my first Ferrari event in the US. I owned a 365 in the UK until Harold Wilson ruined the economy and taxed us out of house and home. Now in a 512 which feels every bit the way I wish the 365 would have felt. But Mike Parkes was running Modena in those days and what did he know??!!

The Omni is 7 miles away and still has rooms. Half the rates of the Westin.
