guys, was a hood tool kit located by the handbrake of 355 Spider ever supplied as standard on UK cars? Thnks. Tony
Tony, It comes in its own leather holdall and is secured alongside the handbrake by a strip of velcro, the tool kit contains :- * Ratchet (14) * Socket (15) * Unlocking screw (17) * Screwdriver (16) * Gloves (18) * Cloth (13 * Leather container (12) MW (Malcolm)
Malcolm, thnks very much. Mine seems to be missing unless it's it's in the main tool kit. Do you sell replacements? Tony
Tony, They are available separately or as a complete kit, it is a special order item from the factory and we would need the interior colour (VM....) of you car so that it would match with your interior - last price was £195.00 plus vat. MW
Malcolm, many thanks for your help.I'll check out the tool kit and be back to you if need be. regards Tony
Malcolm, just had a look at owner's manual; my car [1996] has 2 switches to operate hood underneath a protective plug of sheet panel between the seats . Out of interest, do you know when the hood tool kit was introduced? Tony
Tony, Just spoken to a colleague in sales and as far as he can recall all 355 Spiders had the tool kit from new. As I said earlier the kit was secured by a strip of velcro, so I guess if the velcro is there the it would originally had a tool kit. Tony - last post "see below" - can't see anything ! Regards Malcolm MW
Malcolm, i was talking about the above. There's no reference in my Owner's manual to a hood tool. Tony
Tony, I have checked all the handbooks that were printed from 1994 onwards and they all show the tool kit and emergencey switches in section "H", I have copied the pictures for you. If you definately donot have it in your handbook I can fax, e-mail or post you some photocopies Regards Malcolm MW
Malcolm, thnks very much. I will re-check but can only remember seeing the last 2 pics in my manual. Regards Tony
