    A US owner replied in another thread recently that his Spider had a hood tool kit near the handbrake .Mine doesn't have this and i wondered if any other UK owners have it?

    Have finally got hold of the tool kit for the Luggage Compartment though.....Finally my car, and hence, my life is complete!

    I have on hood tool for my 348 spider. He might mean the 348 model not the 355.

    Its located next to the handbrake in a leather strap.

    Sorry to drag this up again....but

    In the handbook it DOES refer to the hood tool kit.....Mine doesn't have one, but, of course it could proove very handy...

    Have asked Mark at Ferrari Uk to look into it....

    Will let you know the outcome!

    Cheers ; for some unknown reason the early cars{mine has '95 build date, delivered in '96} don't appear to have this tool.Can you pls post a pic showing what it looks like and its location.

    Mine is a '97 P. Its got some kind of toolkit next to handbrake.. I guess its the one for the hood. However I'm not sure exactly how to use it! Incidentally I have problems with my hood at the moment. It makes an awful noise (mid-range alectrical whine) when retracting - its slightly better when the engine is running (battery?) Anyone had this problem?

    Ade,
    no problems on my hood so far.It sounds like you have a problem with the hood motor.Do you have a warrenty with car? Sounds like it'll only get worse if you leave it so best to have it checked out.I have to stress i have zero mechanical ability and this is guess work!

    Hey Tony,
    My warranty is pretty rubbish, it covers very little and 5K max, but its worth a go claiming. You are right(it will only get worse!), I'm gonna get it checked out just in case.
