What tires for a 91 TR?

I need new tires for my TR. Its definitely time to replace the old Goodyears, especially after flat spotting them with the old brakes (which have since been upgraded).

Two Questions:
1) What brand, type and size were original equipment?
(I know it came with Goodyear Eagles, and think I know the size)

2) If I don't go with OE tires, what do you recommend (Bridgestone,
Michelin, Pirelli) and what sizes (increase tread width or not)?
(Yes, I have read the current thread abt tires, but it may be
different for older models used only on the street and in the rain)

I would greatly appreciate responses from people who have tried or know about the setup they recommend using the stock 16 inch rims.
