    Hello Pete,
You're right, it's a McLaren M6 Can Am with a Trojan body for the 24 hrs of Le Mans 1969. The car never did it.
It has a small block chevy all alu with 820 hp. No ground effects and with bias ply tires.
That car gave me a lots of respect for the Can Am drivers. It was fun to race with the loudest motor I ever had in my carreer.
What a ride, I felt very fortunated to race such a car.

Mr. Linder, if you don't mind me asking, what is the XJR15 like to drive? We've all read/heard Clarksons review and although he is a bit loopy he has a lot of respect from some people and when he says a car is "horrible in every way" companies get worried. As an owner of other supercars, how does it compare?

    Thanks

    Hello K5Mcl'
The XJR15 is a full carbon fiber body/frame from TWR. The power from the Jaguar V12 ( mechanical inj) is around 550hp. Not great but enough
to move around. The most amazing deal with that car is the chassis...A all carbon tub gives you perfect rigidity in all conditions at any
track. I often compare my LM with the Jaguar, these two have different chassis but the full carbon has the edge on the frame/carbon. That gives you a cornering speed slightly faster and makes suspention set up easier.
The LM has a very rigid frame with many carbon panels, but again, the carbon tub is ahead at that game.
Go back on the McLaren with a full alu honeycomb tub ...you talk about
    flexibility....
    I hope that this helps
    Take care,
    Roland F40LM

Wow!. Bruce McLaren made a couple of cars like that and they probably would have become the first road McLaren if he had not died when he did.

820hp, yep that would have been lots of fun :D ...

Are you claiming this is a real LM? This was debated months ago. Its a beautiful car, but built like this in the U.S.......not an original.

I think that this clearwed a while back. the car was rebuild like the 6 other one with the LM specs. That's why it's called a "evolutione".
My car isn't just a show car with some carbon tricks on it.. That wouldn't have taken more than 3 years to build !!
