The best suggestion would be to remove Norton from your machine, but a reasonable second suggestion would be to install Adaware from Lavasoft.com. It will clean out most if not all of the advertising garbage.

    Ad-aware 6.0 works wonders

fyi, it's not lavasoft.com it's www.lavasoftusa.com - that will get you the right tools. also get spybot - do the updates to both of them and then run them - of course not at the same time.

Good catch! 'Fraid I downloaded it from www.lavasoft.de & just assumed the US site would be lavasoft.com :)

At least we all agree that Adaware is the right tool for the job!

Just make sure it's Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and not ADA-Ware...a different product

I would add one more to the list. I run these three weekly:

    Spybot S&D
    Ad Aware 6.0 and finally
    Spywareblaster

The last one tries to inoculate your computer against a host of bad stuff before it can get downloaded. All of these have free downloads.

I used them to cleanup my kids' pc from a ton of porn stuff and they worked wonders.

    Good luck,

    mark
