I've been talking with Bob Stretch, the lead driver and owner of the Speed Touring Wheels America team. This will be their third year in World Challenge racing BMW 323's. Bob is a very accomplished racer...

They haven't updated his profile from last year...

Has been road racing since 1995 in SCCA, starting in the ITA class. Has also drag raced and run sprint cars. 1998 GTA Rookie of the Year. 2000 ARRC ITA Champion. Undefeated in ITA from 2000-2002.

Last year in World Challenge he finished 14th out of 66 drivers.

This year there will be 10 total events, the 9 scheduled so far are...

    Date Event/Venue Winners/Schedule

    March 17-20
    With ALMS Sebring International Raceway
    Sebring, Fla. TBD

    May 28-31
With Busch North Lime Rock Park
    Lakeville, Conn. TBD

    June 25-27
With ALMS Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
    Lexington, Ohio TBD

    July 16-18
    With ALMS Infineon Raceway
    Sonoma, Calif. TBD

    July 23-25
    With ALMS Portland International Raceway
    Portland, Ore. TBD

    Aug. 6-8
    With ALMS Mosport International Raceway
    Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada TBD

    Aug. 20-22
    With ALMS Road America
    Elkhart Lake, Wis. TBD

    Sept. 22-25
    With ALMS Road Atlanta
    Braselton, Ga. TBD

    October 15-17
With ALMS Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
    Monterey, Calif. TBD

As you can see, all except one are being run with ALMS. Wheels America is currently the primary sponsor and he's looking for secondary sponsors or even a primary sponsor to replace Wheels America. Considering the hundreds of thousands of dollars it takes to run a touring team, it's most likely anyone on here would just be interested in a secondary sponsorship. Here's your chance to sponsor a professional team that will be running on the same track and weekends as the ALMS GTS and GT Ferraris. World Challenge has become extremely popular the past few years and these events will give you national TV coverage on Speed TV and first hand exposure to the same crowds that come for ALMS.

So what's my angle you may ask? Well, Bob's team is running at least two cars this season and maybe three. Depending on the level of sponsorship I can find, it's possible you can see me racing on TV or in person.

Please let me know if you're serious about looking into this more. Even for a small sponsorship we're talking into the 5 digits.

To sponsor the entire 3 car team for the year would probably be North of $250k.

To be a secondary sponsor would start at around $20k.

Considering a good ALMS or Trans Am team costs north of $1 mil. it's not too bad for racing the same weekends, on the same tracks, and in front of the same fans.
