I need to pull my 355 front bumper for paint today. Have the parts book and looks easy enough. After researching the Tech archieves I could only find 348 bumper removal and nothing on 355. My only question is: To access the forward bolts on a 348 you pull the trunk liner. Same thing on a 355? I was going to put the car up on jack stands and pull the panels from under the car to reach the bolts Im I wrong here? Do I pull the trunk liner, just like a 348, to get at the bolts instead? Thanks Frank
Hi FL 355, I'm afraid I don't have the answer to your question. However, I'm quite interested by your thread since I'm owning a F355. Is the "parts book" your are refering to, an official Ferrari one that one can purchase? Regards, Chris
Yes it is. An absolute must. I think I got mine for a sponser here, F books.com. It is called "spare parts catalogue" and has all the diagrams and part #s...same book the dealer uses. OK...I'm on the case and starting now. Will take pix in case someone down the road needs to do the same and they will be able to reference this thread..
Excellent to have some pics of the project. I have no experience with bumper removal, but how hard can it be?
OK done. Took 2 1/2 hours to pull front and rear. To pull front there are 8 bolts. Unbolt 4 bolts on the side which requires removing the wheel well panels. Unbolt four bolts on the front. The trick is to get at them! Pulling the panel from underneath does nothing. Nor do you pull the trunk liner. All you have to do is pull the side of the trunk liner to get at the bolts. This pix shows you how to get at them. Pull the side liners and in the front corners you will be able to see the 2 bolts (2 on each side) Image Unavailable, Please Login
All electrical connectors (4) 2 for lights and 2 for side markers unsnap and pull the bumper forward... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rear bumper took about 15 minutes...4 bolts and unscrew the air diffuser and heat shield....no brainer on this one... If anyone with a 355 ever needs to pull a bumper for paint, PM me and I'll be happy to answer any questions or offer assistance. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice job FL355. When you go to put them back on it is helpful to have an extra person. I had my kids help me put my front bumper back on my 348. Same with the rear, helps keep it from getting dinged up.
Thanks for the info. I actually have to change one of the marker lights in the front. Haven't even attempted it yet - do I have to remove the front bumper to do this? David
