    Hi Guys,

A little something to get the mouth watering.

    A STRADALE UPDATE.

First of all pic a nice dry day - Done. Early Sunday morning
Fill Lovingly with Shell Optimax - Done. For that little extra octane boost.
And a nice wide road - Done . A3 To Portsmouth and back.

Select race mode and hold on tght - DDDDOOOOONNNNEEEEEEEEEEE.

Finish back at home 2 1/2 hours later with a cup of hot coco to calm the nerves - DONE. Breath again. sigh.

The first thing that grabs you, or should I say shouts back at you is the exhaust. The minute you touch the gas it just shouts right up close in your face. No cats, No silencer, Just shouts at you like your favourite Sergent Major. <OH, SO YOU WANT TO PLAY DO YOU SMITH. WELL GO ON THEN PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN SMITH AT THE DOUBLE>.
    eh, yes sir.

The tone low down is harsh, gritty, raw, unrefined, uncivilised and damn right rude. Certainly not to everyones taste. And Immediate.

If you then push it hard you can feel the suspension stiffen.
It's like the belt pre-tensioners you get on fighter planes to stop blood rushing to your head and giving you a nose bleed. But I don't have pre-tensioners so it's just the car squatting down and the normally light steering tightening up to help you maintain control of the beast.

UP through the geers so quickly that you hardly have time to blink an eye. The changes are no longer smooth. No longer the pretence of a disguise of a mundane roadster but now just ripping off the cape to reveal it's long awaited true self a wild beast raoring with wild leaps to the next geer.
I'm soon upto around 170 and decide to back off as coming up to traffic.
Slot in behind them in fifth and 80.
Seeing the road up ahead clearing I push down hard in fifth and after 2 seconds engage forth while still punching down hard on the gas.

I swear at this point all the other cars in around me just jumped off the road and into the hedgerows to hide in case the roar of the lion was going to have them for lunch.

    WOW. AND YOUR GONE.

Well that's about it for now.

Got sweaty palms just remembering it while writing this.

    Well That was "race mode"

can't wait to try the "Launch Button".

    The Legal bit.

The numbers mentioned above do not reflect the true situation and were used for dramatical representation only.

No laws were broken and no dogs or girls under sixteen were used.
    Minmum wages were paid.

There was never, at any time, any danger to the health of other road uses and no lasting side effects from the sharp numbing feeling in the back of the head which should quickly ease with the help of a couple of Asprins.

If I weren't already waiting (until Feb, it seems) for a Stradale, you'd have just sold me one. After that report, I might buy another.

    Waz,

No cats? You don't have two large catalysts sitting directly under the airbox?

    Paul/Bumboola,

Yes of course there are cats. It was more of an expression of how the sound seems to come straight from the engine and straight out the pipes.
I'm sure in reality this does'nt actually happen that way.
But there is a by-pass vavle in there somewhere that seems to let more of the raw sound out to the world.
