    Hi all,

Next year I organize The thirteenth edition of the Grand Prix Rétro. It will take place on May 29 and 30th 2004 on the campus of the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland).

There is already a beautiful program . A car ehibition (over 400), a Concours d'élégance, a rally, a circuit around the campus (it's more like a parade !), conferences about the autombiles world and many additionnal animations.

It could be a good idea for some of us to meet in Lausanne and share our red passion. In attachement you can find the first flyer in english and french.

I will post regularly new information about this big event. If you have a question, don't hesitate ...

    Alain,

What exactly does it mean? All cars prior to 1978 and other prestigious vehicles? Does my 328 belong to the "other prestigious vehicle" part? Is there a fee?

    Bonjour Cavallino,

I'm not shure if I catch the "EPFL Rétro" program correctly.

Is the "Suisse Romande rallye" part of the EPFL Retro event? Or is it just another event that by chance occur the same week-end?

Yes, our event is over three days.

Friday, only for professionels : High Tech Cars Day
    Saturday : Two different rallye
Sunday : Grand Prix Rétro exhibition, circuit, Concours d'élégance and many others animations like conferences, Spare parts auction, Scale models sale ...

The Rally Romand is really a great occasion to spend a very special day from Lausanne to Martigny via Gianadda Fondation in particular.

If you have other questions, just ask.

    Alain,

I am from Lausanne and it would be VERY easy for me to go to the EPFL GP, but....on the same weekend is the Spa Ferrari Days. We already planned to go there with friends. Toooooooo bad, why is it the same week-end ??

    Ciao,
    Greg

I hate it that the Spa Ferrari Days are this year so late. Normally they are at the last weekend of April. But this year they will be at the end of May. And then I'm in the middle of my exams :-(
So I think I can't go to the SFD, but I'm going to try to go on friday or saterday because we really had a lot of fun last year.

One month later means perhaps less rainy and cold than last year...but a lot of fun, you're right.

That's probably the principal reason why they changed the date. But here in Belgium you can always expect rain, even in the summer months. The circuit of Spa is well-known for the different wether conditions. I could rain on one part of the circuit and the other part could be totally dry. Very difficult to make a tire choise if you have to race there!!

Thanks for the info, Alain. Might join, although I consider by principle a bit out of place that you have to pay to bring your cars to an exhibition.
