Here are a few pictures of the New Renault R24. the main focus on this car seems to be in the area of the side pods/ engine cover and rear wing.

Here is a close up view of the side pod/engine cover. Note the shark gills and the smoke stack cooling vents.

Here is another angle of the side pods. you can see that they have sculpted the lower portion F2003-GA style.

I dont know about all of you, but I think the car looks fantastic. I am excited to see all of the new designs this season. Its gonna be very interesting, and I think since there are some radical differences between some cars (mostly the front wings) I think there will be huge performance disadvantages or advantages between the cars that will be noticable first race. I cant wait.

Somehow I love these wild curvacious shapes. I think Ferrari started the trend and now everybody makes one more fluid car then the other team. Remember the cardboard boxes we had a few years ago?

    This is cool.

If you notice there are cut aways in front of the upper rear element and that it also goes inwards. This should allow the excess pressure that builds up and causes drag to vent out to the side of the end plates. anslo by comming inwars it allows the main element to bleed off a little pressure that may cause extra drag. Very interesting design.

I would have to say thet the R24 has more curves than a supermodel :) The engine cover treatment definatly is sleek in shape i just think that the "smoke stack" cooling vents distract from the overall shape of the car. Is it just my view or does that Smoke Stack look like i might get in the way durring refuling???

Makes me wish for a ban on all aerodynamic devices except for the front and rear wings..............

Last year Renault had the best handling car on the grid , so do you think history will repeat ?

If so ...they just need speed and very good reliability and they are going to be a very serious contender for the WCC.

Well they said their goal is to break into the top three teams. I don't think they're up for the WCC yet, but I think there is a good chance for a repeat of Alonso's victory. If the top three struggle and kick each other out, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Renault sailing through.

I still think Ferrari is #3 this year and will have to watch its back against Renault while Mc Laren and Williams are duking it out at the top.
