Can anyone describe the mechanism that turns the blinker off when you put the steering wheel back to the middle (77 308). Mine seems to be out of whack. Is there a cam on the steering column that can be adjusted?

    Thanks

This has to do with a plastic wheel in the column switch that trips a lever on the switch itself to release it so it can return to the neutral position. You will need to pull the steering wheel to see what I am talking about. The "wheel" also doubles as the horn ring.

Can the "wheel" you are talking about be adjusted?

    Thanks

    Stacy,

The "wheel" can either 180 degrees out or in the correct position.

    Strange.

Mine seems to be just a little out. My steering wheel is centered OK but it doesn't shut the blinker off when I come back from a right turn unless I over-correct a bit.

Seems like you will have to pull the steering wheel off and have a look at the ring in the top of the switch which locates in the underside of the steering wheel boss.
