the worst i saw was posted on another forum and was taken from rotten.com, the people lost control, it split in half goinand lets just say the occupants weren't going home in one bit...

 

yeah..i saw that too....nasty.....It was a red 355 that had the accident with i believe a euro ford

 

was it a 355? it was un-identifyable.

The accident you prefer too happend in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This was the ONLY Ferrari in this city at this time - in very high speed he
looses control over his Ferrari and "flew" through the rails and hit an VW or a Fiat in the opposite direction.
The two occupants in the Ferrari died along with two or three in the other car.
The speed was way over 200 km/h

The sad thing with Ferraris and other similar exotics is that the occupants won't survive in an accident which the occupants of a modern luxury sedan would.

I noticed than in alot of these photos the cars tend to have flown apart completely, with the rear half separating from the front. Looks like the concept of "safety cell" is non-existant in these crashes.

 

Naturally, cabriolets react differently to accident stresses....as do mid engined cars from front engines ones.

I believe that is the difference you are speaking about.

I really do not believe that the cars are at fault. The referenced accident occured at 170 MPH. NO street car could provide adequate protection when hitting a guardrail at that speed. In order to survive an impact of that magnitude you would require a full roll cage, 5-point harness, and a full face helmet. Street exotics do not come so equiped because the Gucci loafer wearing set wouldn't buy a car that was so basically ---- a race car. So ..... you have cars out there that inspire false confidence because they feel so "steady" at very high speeds but the incidents that do happen at these speeds do require a certain skill that most of these drivers don't possess. Don't blame the car.
