I was in the model list section of this web site doing a little price research on 250 Boano's when I noticed that there aren't any 1966 330 P3's left. I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to them. I've heard of old race cars being updated to the spec of the next race car, so perhaps they were changed to P4's? Or were they wrecked in races beyond all repair? If you know of there condition today it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A few minor points. 0846 was not destroyed. It's chassis was not used to build P5.
Many P3's were uprated into 412P's
Lawerance Stroll currently races 412P 0850.
    0844 curently races in Europe.
I own and am restoring 0846.

All three P3s were updated and all three still exist; Napolis has 0846 (which become the factory's P4 prototype) and you can see the most remarkable set of photographs of the restoration process ever posted in the pre-1969 section; 0844 now races in Europe with a recreation of its Daytona 1967 3rd-place berlinetta body; and 0848 is, I believe, in the Mas du Clos collection in France, unaltered from 1967.

Two other brand-new cars, known unofficially as P3/4s (because thet were halfway between P3 and P4) and officially as 412P (4-litre 12-cylinder) were built for 1967; 0854 was last heard of in Britain and 0850 used to belong to P. Paul Pappalardo from Florida but was sold a year or two ago.

Three brand-new P4s were built for 1967 (0856,0858,0860) and used by the factory.

    Muahahahahaaaaa

I just love stinking up the joint with wrong "0846" info, as Napolis is guaranteed to drop the bombshell.

bluekawala - sorry to have led you astray, but you see, 0846 is Napolis's P4 which is undergoing what is going to be the Ferrari Restoration of the 00's of this Century - which he made a very, very ballsy move on - if, as Jim suggested, you search the Old FerrariChat site, you'll see he took a serious gamble on this - My favorite subject in all of FerrariChat.

    To search the old site:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/cgi-bin/discus/search.cgi
Put 0846 in the Search for: field, hit the Perform Search button. See why he can't rehash the voluminous details, yet again. There's a lot more to his "keeper" than meets the eye.
