Facom is the F1 team supplier.

That said, no, I don't have these.

AJ Foyt told me to use "Craftsman"! LOL

No, really I think the Facom would be great, they're cool.

Griots Garage has them in US.

I have one, and I like it. I think you can find them cheaper than Griots maybe at ultimate garage?? Search around the intertnet, but they're still no bargain. You're paying quite a bit for the "Ferrari". (As usual)

In spite of being French, the tools are very well made. The ratchets are especially nice, and it is a good selection. The chest itself is largely high strength plastic, and not quite a sturdy as I expected.

I think they're supposed to be a limited edition, so maybe there's some collector value??

Let us know what you find for price and availability.

My girlfriend is French. She's extremely well made also. LOL

The only "collectible" thing about it will be the hard time finding parts for that cabinet.

I've done a fair amount of research on Tool Cabinets. If you have to have the "Ferrari" one, then go for it. It's probably a decent cabinet. But, if you truly want the best, IMHO, get a Lista brand. Although hthey're not specifically "tool" cabinets, they're built like tanks, and have all the features you might expect. 440 lbs per draw at > 100% extention, ball bearing supports, finished lip edges, etc.

A medium sized cabinet with casters and a stainless top is about $1500-$1700 USD. A 60" x 47" tall cabinet is about $2000.

Also, Griots sells them under their own brand name.

the cabinets are supposely "limited edition" but how would one know if they really were or not? could just be a marketing ploy. supply and demand baby. griots have a few and claim they have the remaining ones. i'd like to get my greasy paws on one.

If you want top rate tool storage Snap-on is the only way to go. I have shopped all kinds of tool boxes and nothing can come even close to a Snap-on box.

Of course you can always go the "poor mans" route like me. A Stanley box with a couple of stickers.

Yea screw that, for that price get a new Matco or a used Snap-On box. Top quality and both are close to indestructible.

Paid 4k$ for this new. It's a Matco pro series 72" wide, 48" tall 36" deep stainless top, ball bearing drawers. Need the hutch to go with it as I've run outta room.

    FRANCE
"In spite of being French, the tools are very well made."...
being french myself (but, agreed, not very well made...) I almost resented that; so, just for the record, FACOM was established in 1918, the acronym meaning "Franco-Américaine de Construction d'Outillage à Main" (= French-American Handheld Tools manufacture) so, at least at the beginning, there was some american influx...
Since 2006, it is a subsidiary of Stanley Black & Decker.

FACOM's tools always have had a high reputation; they specialised in the automotive and aeronautics sectors.
Their reputation in the Motorsport sector has always been second to none; among others, Juan-Manuel Fangio and Alain Prost sported "Facom" stickers and sponsorship.
