Any ideas or hints....just & only a thought!!!! - Shirts printed (somewhere in the corner) with the sponsors - passes for the event with sponsor advertisement - competion numbers for the cars w/sponsors - for a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig sponsor we could call the Rallye " Fchat-XXX-European-Rallye-2004....or something like this - remember my PM I have sent you!!!! Meeting in the city of XXXX, parking ground, doorplate, sekt, snacks....bla, bla, bla - local print media / daily magazine / web-site of the city we will stay .....I will ask some friends from the FCD for more input and let you know a.s.a..p. Trevi, what is your targeted audience/participation to the rally ? Difficult to make a case for sponsors without knowing how many people they'll reach through that event. The other thing is that a sponsored event generally calls for some on-site activities, collaterals, etc ... Do you have an idea for a sponsorship price list ? Btw, beside t-shirts, caps would be cool too: http://www.casquettes.ch
I agree with Ze_Shark, It will only be a small meeting and I don't think that there will be a lot of interesting features for sponsors. Unless we will all put big stickers on our cars like with the Gumball 3000. Ton
for a sponsor...perhaps a local Ferrari dealer or service station? Perhaps that's also nice in combination with a visit to them... ow ...and for T-shirt/caps/website design; perhaps I can help you out...PM me if interested
Hi Guys, I have done a lot of PR for the dutch Alfa Romeo Club, btw still do, and my experience is that sponsors only are interested in really big events. Think about 1000 people or more, radio/TV or newspapers. I do not know how big you are thinking but there must be more than 100 chatmembers with Ferrari's to be interesting for a big sponsor. Trevi, Wolfgang, if you need any help let me know. Because the event will be in Switzerland that is the place to look for the sponsors. (maybe one of these watches brands? ) Ciao, Roel
My point is that if you want to find some money, you have to be able to - set expectations: X cars, Y people for 4 days in Andermatt - purpose/program of the event: what are the sponsors linking their name to ? - sponsorship levels must be defined in advance I could go to my mkg dpt and ask them if they'd put a little money to have the company logo on t-shirts or caps for a car nut event, but I can't do that unless I can "characterize" the event.
Hi & good morning ze_shark, good post & very well said. Sounds like you are involted with this?! Could you please help us a bit and take care of? Maybe you can call or PM Trevi and work out something with your knowledge about sponsorship and all the problems, capabilities (you are Swiss and its (maybe) a bit easier for you? Thanks in advance Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
I agree with Ze_Shark! A sponsor will never give money for "just a small get-together". There needs to be more character to the event. I think that sponsorship must be sought on a lower level. For instance with a local shop or factory that we can visit. Of course we all could have a Omega or Breitling sticker on our car to show the exclusivity of the brand. Waldo, feel free to give some inputs. If you have a nice design that we can use then you are more than welcome to share it. Ton
What I sometimes saw here in The Netherlands when the Dutch Ferrari Club organised a rally was that a Ferrari servicestation joined the 'rally' with a servicetruck, so that if one (or more) of the cars were in trouble, they good give help. Perhaps that's an idea to try?
Pure speculation, but I would not see a dealer endorsing an event other than his own or the official Ferrari club. Based on what I've read on the recent moves from Ferrari Spa to tighten their control on clubs, I am not sure Ferrari Switzerland would be pleased if a dealer supported a non-official event organised by a wildly (yipee) unofficial club ! Does not hurt to try though.
Perhaps not an official dealer, but perhaps a (smaller) local Ferrari maintence garage does want to give help...Ofcourse it's also good for them, because when something does happen...they can fix it (and earn money )
Thinking about "Sponsors": Serious reading the post from Ton, ze_shark & Dino 208gt4...a.s.o. Gents you are right! And....... -WHY? -FOR WHAT REASON? Do we realy need sponsors? For what reason we need them? What should they pay for us; what we can not afford? We can`t proffer them anything they would be interested and willing to sponsor / pay for it! We don`t want to be overdependent by a sponsor or complying his conditions! IMHO, forget it, lets do OUR meeting, it worth it & we wil pay for it! Just my 0,01 Swiss-Franken;-) Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
hi mates! i've seen there is a lot of thoughts and ideas coming up during the weekend. thank you all!! i will revert on the issues raised during today, hopefully. shark is right, i should outline my ideas and schedules i have in mind so far. i'll be back soon with some more infos! thanks all, trervi
Sponsors or not, Wolfgang will be there! And the rest of us too I guess. My only experience with trying to raise sponsorhip was during my university years. It's like trying to get blood out of a stone! Cheers, MARK
......so I'll leave it to the experts! Hey!!! I know a guitar shop in Plankstadt that may sponsor us! Cheers, MARK
....but I need a real good "Psychologist" who can explain & help me to understand: Why, for what reason or yielt profit my firm should do that? Do you know a real good one Mark? I have heared one of the best is right now working in the U.K.? Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
He-he!! You forget that I one of my specialities is Hypnotherapy Wolfgang. I can help you to quit the F-Chat habit if you wish! ;-) Cheers, MARK
Oh, oh I`m disoriented & starred pisces....So I must take care of you & your skills Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
Hi Trevi, are you just woken up from your last night comatose? Hey, no hijacking....always RALLY related (mhmm o.k. mostly;-) Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
I started some "stealth" market research on the profile of the average f-chatter (sorry, did not dare to venture studying the average EUROPEAN f-chatter). Based on http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6685, 58% of respondants play car games. With 43 respondents, I can build a pretty robust business case ;-)
ze_shark, cool idea! Something to do with your occupation? Market analyse? Surrogate (PC games) for those cold, snowy days where we can`t drive on the road;-) Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
