    " I remember we were working all night to get the car ready for the race tomorrow. The Old Man came by at midnight and told the foreman to get dinner for all of us and to have cars standing by to drive us home after we finished.
    At about 3am the seamstress ran up and said: "Take off your coveralls."
    I said: "What?" She explained they had to sew the seat covers but the factory was closed and there was no leather in the race shop. At that time we wore blue cotton coveralls.
    We finished and loaded the car. That's why the seats of the first 250 GTO are covered in blue cotton."
    We still have a way's to go but for the first time it looks like we're going racing...

    watching this project is like seeing something supernatural open its eyes and come to life ever so slowly, and to think its " only" a car to some folks! the color must be stunning in the sunlight! . WOW!

    Various friends who are helping me with the restoration.
    The trick with color is to mix and test in the sunlight. Under flo it looks a bit pink but the light in the paint shop is sunlight balanced. The color is period correct not the modern Rossa Corsa which has almost become "Fire Engine red" In 67 it had a hint of violet which really pops in the sunlight.
