just some rough, first ideas for the discussion:

aug, 19: individual arrival (or in several convoys ;)) in andermatt. hotel checkin, easy dinner, couple a drinks.....

aug, 20: friday: drive out 4 pass roads.
main attraction and highlight (if i'm successful): closing of the road from realp up to the furka pass for the public, free driving for the rally-participants. lunch and tea time on top of different passes (has to be scheduled in details later).

evening: dinner (catering) in a local venue, afterwards big party with dj's, live bands (depends on sponsoring) and a good bar.

    aug, 21: saturday
wake up not too early in the morning. some public action such as presentation of the cars, a convoy through the village, maybe giving children a ride or something. lunch and afterwards drive out for the other 4 passroads.

    aug, 22: sunday
hotel check out, individual departure, many tears ......

i will organize support by mechanics, cars will be guarded and we will also have convoy support and traffic regulation (pace car(s)) for the drive outs. this issues will be discussed in detail with the police of 4 cantons.

these are my first ideas, any comments are welcome!

    Hi Trevi,

    Beautiful plan!
Why throw a big expensive party? Why don't we just go for a nice drink in the village itself and have some fun with the locals.
I also like the plan of taking the children for a tour.

I am looking forward to the event.

this finally depends on the number of participants. ...and it does not necessarly imply to be expensive.
IMHO drinks and fun with the locals is on thursday and saturday, but a "reasonable" ;) Fchat-Rally-Party should be part of the event.

    just my 2 rappen ;)

Another idea regarding the "PARTY"....yes I love partys, drinks and...

Whats about the HOTEL we will stay? Isn`t there a Hotel Bar?
Let us take tht Hotel Bar...isn`t sooo far to walk after the party home; nobody gets lots in the streets:D and (I don`know the location) maybe we can rent the Hotel Bar for a private all-nighter-event???

hey all....don't forget, andermatt is a tiny small village :)
depending on the number of participants, it could be hard to fit all in one hotel bar, .....and a hotel bar is not very cosy.....have seen enough of them in my long long life!

one of my beer-bonkers ideas so far was to try to get an fcar for the police to lead the convoy, with the magnetic police signs and the bluelights on :D
just as a motivation for the police to truly support us ;)

Think that it's fun...also for the peopletjes there... (eh...a bit strange English/Dutch word I made, I noticed...but hey, you understand) :) But the 'procession' is ofcourse nice for the local tifosi (perhaps you could announce it there a week earlier or something...(local newspaper, Tv etc :D )

I can see it in my mind: Ferrari Parade: 10.000 screaming and yelling tifosi at the side(s) of the road(s)...World wide broadcast at the news :D (I'm I going over the top right now?) :p

    @Trevi@,

I have been looking (google) in and around "Andermatt" for Hotels this morning.
Man, thats realy a smal city!!!!!!!!
Not many Hotels, most with too less rooms, no garages or parking.....a.s.o.
Went a bit outside of Andermatt (maybe better, bigger, cheaper) and found: Realp, Hospenthal, Göschenen, Wassen, Gurtnellen. Beuatiful but same problem: Only 5 - 12 rooms for rent.
The only Hotel I have found was the
"Hotel Monopol Metropol" by Karin & Marcel Wegner.
    http://www.monopol-andermatt.ch/
Nice Hotel Bar: "La Curva" (what an awesome great name;-)
    No garage, no parking;-((((((

    Do you have any ideas?????
Have you already found a Hotel?
I believe we must rent the rooms (must not be the Monopol, happy to find another one) right in time `cause there are not so many Hotels
in the Andermatt surrounding with space enough for all participants.

Let me know your thoughts & ideas.

    Hi Wolfgang,

I have taken a look to the hotel you have mentioned in your post. That one seems pretty good but (as you mentioned, too) no parking area.

The only possibility will be hiring a night watchman for our cars!
Otherwise the hotel seems large enough (37 rooms and junior suites!).

    Let's see which is Trevi's opinion ;-)

    Hi & good morning Uwe,

first of all - thanks a lot buddy; got your post yesterday!
For sure 110% count me and Anja in!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Once again THANK YOU!!!!!

    About the Hotel & Parking.
Yes, we have done the same at our Hotel in Montafon with the FCD. Just rented 3-4 guys to protect the cars over night...well loaded with Smith & Wesson:D
Sopke to Trevi about this earlier and for sure this will be the solution.

But...lets hear what Trevi is thinking about it.

Whats up on Friday with you????
I have to go to a client in Frankfurt in the afternoon and later to Egelsbach..........????

    no big issues!

cars: there are big army facilities there where we should find enough parking space, either indoor or outdoor. if outdoor, i'll organize guards.

accomodation: it may not be possible to fit all participants in one hotel, but as the town is so small, this is not an issue.

these are the minor problems ;)

    Trevi,
2 or 3 different Hotels would split the group!
    PLEASE DON`T DO THIS!
Try to check out & find a Hotel where we all can have fun together.
The "Monopol Metropol" is one of them with all the capabilities we need.
    Including the "La curva" Bar:D:D:D:D

    Hi Wolferossa ;-),

I'm glad you will join my party. We have reserved a contingent of rooms in the mentioned hotel - I hope you will celebrate the whole night with us ;-). Be aware that this party has a motto - I'm be anxious about your costumes ;-).

    What's about friday :-(
unfortunately I have an appointment at 2:00 pm and after that appointment I'm invited to the annual new years reception of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Therefor I don't believe that I can come to the first meeting of the FCD this year :-(

wolfierosa don't panic! of course i will try to book as much people as possible in one hotel, if it is enough, ok, if not, we will need more rooms. the hotels are located almost door by door. depending on the outcome of our poll for admission i would see to put all fchat-members as close together as possible and others would be booked in other hotels nearby.

this will work out fine for everybody!
