Oh man, I'm SO disappointed in you.

Grigio Ingrid is a color named after the car built for Ingrid Bergman, it's a unique silver.

 

Uh, oh, can you forgive me or do I have to send my keys to DES now?

I admit I never caught up with the color naming game.

Ingrid was the Scaglietti codename after Ingrid Bergman, who was Rosselini's better half. Rosselini had a car custom made that served as the inspiration for the new 612. But before it was official, they called it Ingrid.

 

Yeah, just not your Ferrari keys!

You've got the right car, the color of that car was the very first Grigio Ingrid.

Uh, oh, that's nice of you. Blushing. I needed that. Just was called 'stupid' by Allanlambo. My self esteem just went down the drain...


On a more serious note I really never cared much what colors there are. My take is, that a paint job can always change that. Had my car repainted already once and thinking about the next paint job already. Might even change colors, just for the fun.

Hmm, interesting. I see only two models I don't have in 1/18 scale. I always thought there is so much more out there in 1:43 scale.

I know at least for the F1 cars, there is a lot more. At the Galleria they had almost every F1 Ferrari ever made on display in 1/43.

 

Dana, that's a pretty kick-ass collection you have... and 32 muscle cars along with it...? Daaaaaaaaamn... We'd all love for you to post pictures one day...

 

Andreas, the car at the Hobby shop was a 512. The cars actually. They had 3, all Kyoshos. They had a red and a yellow for $59.99, and a silver for $69.99. Not sure why the silver cost more.

Tillman picked up a P4 and a 64 GTO.

They also had a 1/43 Revell Testarossa covertible in black dated 1990. I'd never seen one of those before.

That's what I'm saying, the 365BB is hard to find. Same story at Exoticar in NY. Only 512BBis.

May I ask you why? Not trying to bash you, just curious as to why so many and none others? Are you that much into the 355 or you just can't resist one when you see it? Just curious.

 

Thanks, I have to pick out a really good spot to take pictures of them all. I have to admit the scene that Eric used as his back drop really has me wondering if I can pull something off at the beach.

 

Hey no problem. The 355 happens to be my favorite one. The model can never age to me. It just looks too slick! And UT and hotwheels did produce a lot of different ones; like spider, gts, berlinetta and different exterior color with interior color. So I just thought I'd make some of my other favorites in different styles as well. I do have other Ferraris too in my collection as well as other makes. I know its wierd to have all these cars in different colors but I really do like them, I've been collecting for many years and enjoyed repainting them. I plan to have a showroom for the entire collection some day when I settle down in a nice house.

 

LOL, yeah, Eric's backdrop's are pretty awesome... i've played around with different things in my house; light-colored cars in front of a dark-colored wall and vice versa... A setup like Eric's is worth posting, though... Whenever you take pictures, please start a separate thread as i'm eager to see such a collection...
i'm not even into muscle cars but i can only imagine what must be in your collection... LOL, i didn't even know 32 different types of muscle cars existed...!

 

How many models do you have in total (including the 355's)? Are they all 1/18??

 

Thanks for the compliment. My pictures are actually takin outside in my back yard. With a little creative photography I'm able to make the model look realistic. The road piece is no more than an asphalt texture with yellow lines painted on it. I created the section in Photoshop and printed it out on plain white paper. I then attached it to a 2' x 1' shelf and brought it outside. As you can see the results are great.
