The Zonda owns, it's the car Ferrari should be making instead of the 575M. It's like a TR evolution.

However, at the Nurburgring Autocar recorded a 7:46 for the Zonda S, and a 7:40 for a Carerra GT. We've heard the Enzo is a second or two off of the Carerra GT's time, which puts it ahead of the Zonda, so I'm not so sure the biased authors of that piece you linked are correct in their assumptions of performance dominance.

That being said, the Zonda is THE supercar right now if judged by the merits of comfort, performance, looks, and technology, and if they continue to add HP by getting AMG to ship them the latest and greatest engines, watch out.

Imagine a 2,800lb Zonda with a 700HP AMG engine in it. Jesus.

Pagani really needs to federalize and sell his cars over here.

Paganis are going to be sold here shortly. And yes, they are bad ass. Ive thought about trying to buy one in Europe, a regular C12, which is relatively inexpensive, about 200,000 and bring it here, sans motor, and shove a new twin turbo Amg unit in it.

$200k, damn that is cheap for that car.

And we've got guys on this board overpaying that much for 360 spyders, LOL!

The Zonda is underpowered compared to its competitors. 7.3L and only 550 is not very impressive. Shove the motor from the CL65 with 600+ HP and 730 TQ, and you have a KILLER!

Viper, don't let yourself be stuck in "Honda land" where all that matters is how much output you squeeze from a certain displacement. You're smarter than that based on the posts I've seen from you.

In the real world, only two things matter:

    1. Weight.
    2. Power.

    That's it.

Being impressed or unimpressed by a certain output per liter is something that Honda fanboys parade out as if its something that's important.

I'm more impressed by the HP and Torque the Zonda S puts out in proportion to its rediculously light weight. It's 300lbs. lighter than an Enzo, and has 550ft/lbs. of torque. Now THAT's impressive.

I don't care if it's a 10L engine or a 3L engine, as long as it's light weight and has mad power.

What impressive, is that the Benz motor, and the chassis and brakes are capable of much more. 800, daily driveable reliable hp would be easily achievable, in a car that has the complete package of what an exotic car should be. Outrageous looks, outrageous performance.
