Does anyone have experience with the Superformance valves or pistons?
You have the same process in Germany with the gutachters etc, so you know what I mean.
BTW, is there some sort of sn# or unique identifier, or at least a manufacturing date on the cylinder heads?
1. Doing a full rebuild.
Issues: because of EU laws I'd have to mothball the engine for the duration of the legal process....
What about the fresh top end vs. the tired bottom end?
For a balanced, optimum result, one would have to rebuild the entire engine.
I'd be fine with this, so long as the dealer oversees the entire operation.
Otherwise there's the risk of one party blaming the other if...

Here's a close up of the damaged end. The bearing's visibly deformed by the material lodged onto the cam.
They went crazy with the sealant of course (shake head) but that speck is cam cover red, not sealant red.
It's not there in all of the photos and...
The half bearings are matched to the cylinder head. Are the camshafts matched to the head also?
Unless I had a redesigned version, I'd skip them, but I can understand why some feel otherwise.
The shop even claims the engine and transmission...

Considering the front covers slide onto the bolts in the block and the rears are screwed into the front covers,
the depth of the front covers...
Not gonna happen without a beatdown. Wrong arena frankly, but letting slide is not an option.
Sure. The V is inverted compared to all others....
I suppose there's always a chance something can get in there but, personally I'd rather see the belts.
Plus considering the state of the rear...
