I am not sure if Andy's picture on the other thread shows the fuel pipe. I think the two pipes are the breather and the venting tube. Is there...
Is that the fuel pipe in Andy's picture, or the breather between the two tanks? The one above looks like the black venting tube that has been...
OK, thanks for those suggestions. It would be good to know where the fuel line is supposed to be, for when I strip out the aluminium heat shield....
The upper pipe is the breather, the one that seems to tuck underneath it is the pipe from the fuel filter to the fuel metering system. GG
The fuel return in the standard position from the diagram, on the RHS of the engine bay. If that piping is not original then I need to explore...
It is supposed to be the fuel filter and the pipe that leads to the fuel metering device. I agree, it does look rather odd in the photograph....
No glowing headers, so far as I am aware. The cold start valve could be an issue but the car normally runs fine, even when well warmed up. It is...
Here are a couple more photographs of the engine bay -- one not particularly good - showing the position of the added aluminium heat shield....
Those are a couple of interesting avenues to explore too. The fuel pump was changed around four or five years ago so that should (?) be OK. GG
That sounds like a useful adage, except that I don't know whether it is fuel or ignition! Yes, climb, it is enormously frustrating. I am...
There has never been any evidence of an exhaust leak but it is an area that needs examining again. However my thought -- unlikely though it might...
Thanks for the link to neon spark indicators. Any thoughts on a hot fuel line? GG
I have not checked the fuel accumulator, so that is another item to add to the list. However the fuel smell has now gone. It was traced to a...
The coils seemed fine last time we investigated this but it is another item to consider. The plug leads were fixed into standard clips in the...
The popping from the car is only audible on deceleration. Under acceleration there is no audible popping, just a loss of power. I am assured...
No, the timing curve has not been checked with the fault present. It has never been possible to present the car with the fault at a sensible time...
I am trying to make a mental comparison with my 2.7 Cayman which lives in the UK and the 328 in France. I think that when running smoothly the...
Albert-LP -- the car is in France, not the UK and has already been to a couple of competent garages, one a specialist Ferrari shop the other...
I am fault finding a persistent but intermittent 328 problem that is being discussed in another thread. A possible cause that has been suggested...
Interesting, fluffpony. You appear to be experiencing the behaviour more quickly than I do but I do remember that when I first drove the car, it...
